I just saw that the shadows of self won't be published until november 19th... maybe it should be to read on december? otherwise this is great :) added all of them to my to-buy-asap list XD
Ambre-marine, the US release date is October 6th, which is probably why it was scheduled as the November read. I take it you are in a region with a later release date? (obviously, I don't know why I asked that, you pretty much just said it...)
This is true! I just purchased The Final Empire from there also for 3.99 in the trade paperback. Definitely worth checking out!
Weiry, I live in France actually but I get my books from bookdepository which says that it will only be released on november. But I guess this is for the UK edition (which I usually prefer so that all my Brandon Sanderson match on my shelves) but I guess I'll have to get the US edition this time, or get the ebook version until the UK one comes out! :p

Ungar5, I just checked again and you're right it says october 8 so I have no idea where I saw that it was only coming out in november o.O Anyway I'm glad it doesn't so I'll be able to get it in time ^^EDIT: MYSTERY SOLVED! It's on goodreads that it says "expected publication on november 19th" :p I guess it's false XD

We saw that Shadows of Self was coming out in November which is why we decided to read it in November. If ten days isn't enough for you to read the book, you can always start something else by Sanderson. You don't necessarily have to read the books in this order, but you just need to make sure you've read all of them for the discussion :)

There is a very good Cosmeric reason to read Warbreaker before Words of Radiance.

I'm not sure where is the best place to comment this but I'm part way through Shadows of Self and there doesn't seem to be any discussion threads for it on the group. Sorry if I'm just being completely blind!
So, does anyone know what's going on with this group? There were no threads for Shadows of Self, and none for these month's reads either... I really loved getting to know Brandon Sanderson's work this year (he is now my favorite Fantasy author) and this amazing group is the big reason I did it. I miss the discussions!

I miss the discussions as well! Year of Cosmere has been such a fun experience.
Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I was wondering if anyone has read The Bands of Mourning yet (I read it as soon as it came out, LOVED it), but most importantly, has anyone had a look at Mistborn: Secret History?? I have no idea what to expect from it.
I started Bands of Mourning earlier today. I don't know anything about Mistborn: Secret History apart from the fact I want to read it because it has something to do with Mistborn and it's written by Brandon Sanderson. lol. Also a couple of my Goodreads friends/following have rated it 5 stars.
Secret History was amazing! My recommendation is that you make sure you have copies of the Era 1 trilogy on hand, because I promise you are going to want to reread them immediately upon finishing Secret Histories. As we are so off reminded, "There's always another secret..."
I heard wonderful things about Secret History as well. Lindsey Ray talked about it on her YouTube channel, saying it's the most Cosmere story of all (not a quote here). It sounds REALLY interesting!
I was under the impression that after the year of cosmere was finished there would be a live hangout to discuss everything.Are there plans? Did I miss it? Or is it just not happening?
