Brian Benson (bknight47) | 343 comments Glad there was no substance abuse, that might have been the end for him. Hopefully he will fully recover...:)

Chris | 732 comments Read that he'll survive. When I seen article that they used jaws of life that had me worried.

Chris | 732 comments For all you AARP members you can get 50% off of kindle ebooks. Mmmmm never knew that

message 306: by Jimmie (new)

Jimmie | 302 comments I’m glad Tiger will be ok. That was a gruesome accident. I hope he will have a full recovery. He can provide wisdom if he is not able to play competitively. Being able to walk after that accident is what I would focus on if I was Tiger.

Jimmie | 302 comments Chris, I had no idea of the 50% AARP Kindle discount. How does that work. Do you request the discount for every purchase or do you apply the AARP to your membership?

Here the article that I read:

Call Amazon and ask them. Good luck finding the number because when I tried to find it, it was nearly impossible since I really don't like talking to machines or email. Okay I a nice person here are the numbers Amazon CS 1-888-280-4331 and Amazon Prime 1-866-216-1072. Glad I saved them. I googled it and that the link it sent me to below.

The link for the AARP books about 3000 of them:

You can join when your 50. I started to get them starting at 49 but refused to join. The only reason I joined was the savings I got on my car insurance.

I don't care to much for Tiger, I thought he was good as a kid, but when he started to grow up, and his father passed, he changed BIG time. I think that he has alot of issues going on that we don't know. I am glad that he is alive again, and he needs to do some soul searching or continue with a therapist because something is happening with him that maybe he needs to get cleared up.

message 314: by stephanie, MOD (new)

stephanie | 1557 comments Mod
Do YOU know him personally? I only see what he throws out in public. I remember many famous folks being good as we watch them, and come to find out they have a double life behind the closed doors. Tiger is a good player, and I will leave it at that...

Hey Chris, seeing how I am at the ripe old age of 63, I will get in that deal....Thank you so much..

stephanie | 1557 comments Mod
Oh, well I stand by what I said then, because I thought we all knew about alot of folks, and come to find out, well, lets just say it was sad...Example: TRUMP, now many, and I do mean many thought he was such a great guy,,,makes mega money, and now the shoes aren't fitting anymore. They stopped fitting 3 years and 9 months ago,,and its really not going to fit come info on his taxes..haha, gotta love America..I need his Tax folks, because I would like to write off alot, and fudge the books....

One thing I will not do is sugar coat someone of something that they have done. Now if Tiger made a recovery, good for him, 2 thumbs up, but because YOU see it in a different light, doesn't mean I have to see it the way you see it. America is a good place to live when we all have different opinions. I don;t rock on the same boat as some do, maybe thats why this country is the way it is today. None of my posts ( please re-read ) said NOTHING about drinking, womanizing, and Ruth, you forgot the DRUGS...If you like Tiger, thats fine, for others he is what he is...so the unreal part maybe right, he is unreal...

I don't get into Pelosi, and OCC, I believe it's AOC, and Trump, well alot who didn't care for him voted him out, so much for that storyline. ( I'm an Indie ) Yep I have my opinion, and like I said, I am giving him 2 thumbs up, and glad he is alive for the 2nd or 3rd time, lost count...and God has given him another chance at life...and yep your right, I don't know him personally, just by the actions and comments HE says..Just like others. and I don't know whats behind his door, Never dated him, too old for him anyway, either. I think the issue is that folks look at all the good, and skip bad, and thats where we are today....Much hatred from certain folks I believe. I think you overlook some of the good stuff I said, I give him props for being a good player,,and also a good speaker when he came to Denver, and found out he couldn't play on a certain field and blasted that field..I know you like him Ruth, and to be honest, so do I, I just need to point out some other things as well. I don't hold anything on someone, BUT I do keep stuff on the back of my mind.

Yeah Ruth, I have made plenty of mistakes, Thats how I (we ) grow. Thank GOD I haven't made mistakes where I am in the media. I'm not rich, just a poor educated black woman who lives in Colorado who helps many even if they don't care for me. I was mad at Michael Jackson, but I loved the guy, I liked Elvis, but he was wrong,

Oh, I don't listen to Bieber,,,I am a motown flash-back, BUT I will listen to this song, because I have big, BIG issues about the way this country is going...I believe in my heart that if folks have so much, they need to give out, thats just my way of thinking. If I ever hit the LOTTO, I am opening up a Pre-K building, and charging a flat fee foe one child, flat fee for 2 children, and so-forth....Hire 2 nurses, working 5 hours each, for example...Nurse Betty can work from 6 a.m. to11 a.m,,,then Nurse Johnson from 11a.m to 4 pm.....I believe that the younger kids will pull this world back in shape...

Does this mean we can unfriend if we have a different opinion.

message 327: by stephanie, MOD (new)

stephanie | 1557 comments Mod
I don't Unfriend anyone, because we all are different, and we all think different. This world would be boring if everyone looked the same, talked the same, and had the same opinion, heck how would that be? I like discussions, because I like to look at ALLLLLL sides of the squares...

message 328: by Jimmie (new)

Jimmie | 302 comments I had a big eye opening situation that happened a few weeks ago. My father-in-law passed away two weeks ago and we had his memorial last weekend. I watched as my wife’s family came together for the greater good for the memory of my father-in-law. This is a family that covers left to right politically and they have wide thoughts on religion. But they did not let their personal beliefs impact the memorial. The last family member went home yesterday and we had no outbursts what so ever.

I mentioned that story to shed light on how great this group is and has been a great refuge for me. I’m an Elvis fan, but I also know he had no true confidants to keep from harming himself. I hope Tiger has truly turned his life around. Yes, the members of this group has different views. But we have always respected each other’s point of views.

Every one has their good and bad points. My motto is a leopard doesn't change his spots. They are just hiding it better. I like Tiger and I agree with both you and Ruth in what you both said. Stephanie you made a good point in saying that people forget what has happened in his past. Stephen King said in a twitter post that when he was hit by a car in '97 it took him 5 years to get back to 90% of what he did before the accident.

I said that folks will keep it in the back of their minds..Jimmie, I am sorry for your loss. At a difficult time putting someone at rest is the worst time to bring up any negative stuff. Politics is something we ALL breathe. Its in-grown in us. No matter what we do. I like to talk politic's because I am one of those people who wants to hear all sides, and learn, because maybe what I see isn't the best way I should see, You learn by listening...at least thats how I learn...As far as breaking us up, heck no, I love you all...

No Ruth it was a joke. I don't if you are aware that in the climate we are in, no one can voice an opinion without getting doxxed, blackballed, etc. We are friends on GR and idk if you remember ppl talking a few years back that they were unfriending ppl on Facebook bc of their beliefs. (Smacking head now) I remember but on here, we are level headed mature adults and can agree to disagree on things.

Jimmie, I sorry for your loss.

It is getting to the point that ppl can't have their own opinion anymore. If you don't agree with them you are labeled. I'll be honest there are some things that have been said on threads that I didn't like but hey this is what you think it is not who you are.
