Seeing everyone else setting theirs up I figured I should get my thread set up as well. I'll be honest I'm aiming high for next year and not really sure if I can hit it or not but I'll try.

I've found a group that is just a year long manga/comic challenge and was inspired by it. I don't think that will be the hard part honestly. It's the 200 novels on top of it that will be the harder part.

The first month of the year has been a great start. I'm finished 35 books and passed 8,000 pages so far. I've still got three full days of readings so I'm hoping to hit 40 books and pass 9,000 pages by Sunday.

47 books (13 novels and 34 manga) for a total of 10,946 pages. Not a bad start to the year.

Oooh you started with Alpha& Omega! Also phew that’s a lot of books! Congrats!
I'm doing a reread of Mercy Thompson series and part of that is going to include the Alpha and Omega series. I've only read the first couple books so it's a good reason to go back and read everything.

Another month and another stack of books. This month I read 37 books (10 novels and 27 manga/comics) for a total of 8,089 pages.

I enjoyed it. I liked the fact that even though it was a "fated" romance both parties had baggage that they had to address. That not everything was sunshine and lollipops as soon as their destined partner was found.

Amanchu was another great SoL but it's a harder recommend for me. It starts out super solid but it makes some odd choices. Some work and I enjoy them but I can see others not liking them.
On the Shonen side Fairy Tail is Fairy Tail. I'm still in territory of stuff I kind of know but I'm getting to the Erza arc that is rather good. Shaman King I feel is better. I like the art more and the fights are more interesting. The whole power up from friendship isn't as in your face as Fairy Tail.
Finally, Lupin III, I recommend this only to fans of Lupin III and even then it's kind of a hard recommendation to make. The first volume came out in 1967 and while I see the frame work for the characters I know and love it's just not the same. The stories don't really feel well crafted, the artwork is rather ugly, and there is a lot of unsavory elements. Lupin seems to kill a lot more people and steal a whole lot less. There is also the ugly elephant in the room. There is a lot of rape done by pretty much everyone. I'm really on the fence as to whether I want to continue. Part of me does just to see the source material for the franchise I love but part of me just isn't impressed enough to push on.

Another month has come and gone. It was a bit of a slower month with mostly work related stuff. I read 10 novels, 21 manga/comics, for a total of 7,504 pages.
Wow! Nicely done this month too! I'm also going to read Fairy Tail soon :D
I've been trying to read a couple of volumes of it a week. It has some issues but it's not as bad as I've heard.

This was a bit of a better month for reading. I read another 36 books (23 comics/manga and 13 novels) for a total of 8,849 pages. There were a couple of stinkers in there but overall it was another month of good reading.
A pretty good month overall. I read 39 books total with that divided up into 13 manga and 26 novels. I added another 9,168 pages to my yearly total as well.

Oh boy, you're asking the hard questions. Most of the manga I read was pretty great with Sleepy Princess, Magus of the Library, and Witch Hat Atelier being the stand outs. As for novels, not counting rereads, I'd have to give it to Just One Damned Thing After Another with the Alex Rider series being pretty close behind.

It wasn't bad but it didn't exactly blow me out of the water either. It's hard to judge the entire series off a novella but it was alright. It's another book in the "descendants of the Gods that have their own school" genre. Think Mythos Academy kind of idea.
