I like your approach to Challenge 8 and definitely support the idea of reading books that you own! My bookshelves can definitely benefit from that idea. I'm planning on reading The Book of Memory by Petina Gappah this year, so would be interested in your thoughts on An Elegy for Easterly. I know why the caged bird sings is also on my list for the year. Enjoy!
Enjoy your challenge, a great list of books. The Razors Edge and On the Beach are ols favorites, looking forward to your thoughts.
I admire you for reading from your existing shelf for the Old & New Challenge. You have some great stuff on that shelf. And there are so many books on the other challenges that I am not familiar with. I’m thinking that my Mt TBR is going to get taller after checking them out. Have fun!

Yes, I've been hopeless for most of my life - I buy books and fill my shelfs and then borrow books that I don't have from the library. I've become better at reading my own books the last years but I still want to improve =D

Some really good choices here. I, too, plan to read "Robinson Crusoe" for my New and Old TBR challenge. I don't have any idea why I have never read this old classic so I plan to remedy that.

And yes, I agree - I know I've wanted to read it since I was a child so I'm a bit confused about all the time that has passed without me reading it =D!
I am impressed with the books on your Old and New Challenge. How nice to already own all of those! Also, looking over your Second Place or Worse Challenge, I realize how many books there are on your list that I would like to read, yet not one was on the list I picked!

I've been collecting books my whole life but haven't been able to read them in the same rate due to raising my children by myself and studying. Now I (try to) forbid myself to borrow books from the library or to buy new books so I can concentrate on reading all the books I've got (but I must admit that I'm not entirely good at obeying myself).
Great list! I'm doing the same with buying books at the moment, but still borrow some from the library. Hope to be done with all I own in a couple of years :)

I have finally read a book from my buffet and I have also finally figured out how to mark it as read by striking it! Challenge 8: a book from North America I Know Why the Caged Bird Singsby Maya Angelou
