I read The Moonstone. It's long, but part of the ddevlopment of the detective novel.

I just received The Final Revival of Opal & Nev as my Book of the Month. Looks like it would appeal to anyone who loved Daisy Jones and the Six. It's also an early release (expected at the end of this month), so it's currently very low on reviews if anyone wants to fulfill that category as well.
I'm gonna read The Mountains Sing by Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai for this prompt. I googled "definition of mountain" and it said "rock" lol so I said YES, using it! Especially because I impromptu bought this book because the description sounds amazing and I wanted to fit it into the challenge.
I may be stretching on this prompt but I'm going for it. I read The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis. The lions they are referring to are Patience and Fortitude outside the Beaux-Arts building at Fifth Avenue and 42nd street. They are marble which is metamorphic rock. I'm using this book because this may be as close as I get to fulfilling this prompt.
Finished Pearl Cove by Elizabeth Lowell for this prompt this afternoon. Good rom-suspense!Though I am using it for my gem, it also fits other prompts: “set in multiple countries” (3), a “book with three generations,” and “bestseller from the 1990s.” If you’re a jeweler or into jewelry it would also fit “current/dream job” as well, and fits “zodiac sign” for anyone who is an Aries.
ETA: Would also fit “a place you would like to visit in 2021”— set in Australia, Seattle, and Hong Kong.
Also How Much of These Hills is Gold by C Pam Zhang.Took a while to get into, but has wonderful imagery and a really different take on a western. Would also be excellent for the ATY siblings prompt.
Recommendations: The Moonstone; The Salt Path; The Hare With Amber Eyes: A Family's Century of Art and Loss.
I picked up a book called Tin Man that I may read for this and put The Mountains Sing into another category. Tin is on the long list of minerals PDF that was posted earlier.
I would not count cyanide as a mineral. It's a chemical compound. Its organic compounds are called nitriles - not really stable like a rock, mineral or gem.
I read Dragon Teeth by Michael Crichton for this prompt. I loved it. It's Michael Crichton writing about dinosaur (bones) so of course I'm going to love it. It's historical fiction/Western rather than sci-fi, but still wonderful. I decided that since teeth are bones and bones contain minerals this book fits the prompt.
Nyla wrote: "Cards on the Table by Agatha Christie"Are you sure you posted this in the right place? It definitely fits heart/diamond/club/spade on the cover, but I don’t see how it fits gem/mineral/rock in the title.
A Study in EmeraldI loved A Study in Scarlet, and if you did as well, or if you’ve read any Arthur Conan Doyle, you will likely enjoy this graphic novel. You will likely cotton on to what Neil Gaiman is up to here. Even without any prior reading, this a clever, enjoyable story. My first Neil Gaiman read, and the first retelling I enjoyed since The Ballad of Black Tom by the inimitable Victor LaValle
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling, Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel and The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. It's my TBR list!:D
