Zuzana | 2570 comments I never used it any other way, but I guess by allowing it for the Stress Relief quest people got quite confused.

Anyway, regarding the Find Items Potion use, shouldn't it be allowed for Puppy training - mind you, only for the items collection - you know "throw 15 goblin bones", etc.? An maybe for the Merely Kats Blanket quest to reduce the number of pelts? What do you think, Kelly?

Yeah but for stress relief it's when they ask for 5 salt the orb decreases it by 1. Not the other items like plains, or apples.

message 6153: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Who's talking about plains and apples? I mean only the quests where drop items are used - goblin bones, bat wings, rat tails and pelts. Either way Kelly decides, I'm fine with that. It just feels weird that FIP is allowed for the Sheet quest and not for the blanket quest, and for the Stress relief and not for the puppy training.

I'm worried about backdating it to quests that are fairly old since a lot of people have probably already done them under the current rules. So I'd prefer to leave them as is.

I fully expect there to be some FIP eligible stuff in next month's posting.

Some other possibilities:

I'm ok with #3 even though it doesn't have the same meaning. The other 2 are a bit too much of a stretch for this one but I like the idea and may steal it for another quest :P Diamond in the rough or something like that.

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 522 comments For the battle with The Thesaurus, would a plural of a word found in the linked dictionary work?

My word is 'lacunae' which is plural of 'lacuna - a blank space or missing part'. The definition is spot on, so I am sure there's no difference beyond making it mean multiple blank spaces or missing parts.

(If anyone is curious, it's found in Geek Love.)

haha that's awesome! I only started 'watching' for words that might be in that dictionary late in that book, but it really seemed to be a virtual goldmine even though I can only throw it at the monster once. ;) I was an English major in college (still intending to persue Masters +) and words just make me happy. lol.

Yeah, I'm ok with those at weapons since most people would consider them so.

We should just stay away from stuff like "a pencil is a weapon since you can kill someone with it!" :)

Hidden monsters are one's you need a dog trained with Beginner (for minor hidden) or Intermediate (for the other one) Tracking.

Yay for April babies. Sorry all, but we ARE the best;)

Also, I'm thinking about attacking Gluttony next. Lady Ysmay will be so helpful for that, I can't wait to hire her!

message 6185: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments For Lady Ysmay..... does she only give you +5 HP after a full round (meaning an attack from both hero and monster) or can you heal you even if you kill the monster in one stroke?

You get the 5 HP even if you kill the monster in one -- I remember someone asking awhile back. Makes the weekly kills good for healing up. ;) Especially with a rock and orb to add to it.

With the rock, orb, bed and level 3 sheets and egg and attacking Lemur, goblin, bat, greater sewer rat and drop bear I find I come back to full healing 32 + 2 each week WITHOUT LADY YSMAY.

In fact I usually don't use my egg anymore except for the big battles.

message 6189: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 522 comments Oh yeah it's super easy without her when you have all the other things (as most normal weeks I just do that to heal up). I was using with her while fighting the hydra heads and other shield gem monsters to heal up the rest of the way between bigger battles by killing one of the littles.

I also tend to hold my egg until I'm done killing stuff. Just pop it on at the end when there's nothing left to kill.

message 6190: by Rebecca (last edited Apr 27, 2016 10:27AM) (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3799 comments Right now I can kill the goblin, bat, and drop bear in one attack (can't do sewer rat anymore because I've leveled up too high). I love how much healing that gives me with the Orb and Rock (and sheets and egg). I love all the healing, but I need to up my attack a little so I can also one-shot greater rats and get more tails for my fancy sheets.

I want to hire Lady Ysmay for hydra attacks, and will take the extra healing (with one shot battles) to get my HP up to max before my big attack.

I meant Greater sewer rat. :-)

I equate Baubles, growth weapon potions and Lady Ysmay as the three most powerful tools in battle.

Next: pet plus potion and Combat 2 PUPPY. You just can't complain about +4 each round.

I must admit discovering the proper use of acorns last month after a year of playing was rather humbling.

I love this game. :-D

Well Sally Welcome back, grab a brew and if possible list all the books that you've read since you last checked in. They are ALL ELIGIBLE.

Check out all the quests from the Notice Board. I suggest that you read the welcome & getting started notes. They will help you to sort what kind of quests to pursue and decide how to get the most enjoyment out of the game.

There are gift cards to re-open any expired quests, but some of the newer quests give you more bang for the books.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like and check in here often. :-)
