I only meant that I wouldn't count them as doubling gold/potions/potion tokens because I don't/wouldn't count them as the same thing as the items if that makes sense? Mentally for me they're on different tiers.
I'm cool either way, I was just saying I need to go back and get some gold if that's the case. lol.

Yes you can count it.

Zuzana | 2570 comments Yeah, I know, Morgan. Sometimes I just read something here, and I start hyperventilating because I did it differently without meaning any harm. Like with the Alchemy that! quest - when people got convinced that for the A,E,I,O,U books you can't use the standard spell-it-out rules, so no books starting with "The" are allowed.

If it turns out that the twins bonus doesn't apply for the Lemurs I'll be cool with that. I'll go back and deduct the appropriate amount of gold. What I mean is that I just doubled the dropped coins without ever thinking that it migh be wrong.

LOL.

Kelly, thanks for clarifying.

Do you think we can Renovate kitchen two for a double sink that drips other potions. Minor poion, damage, pet plus?

Or add a library which let you double a book each week/month. Or like the sink, lets you randomly generate a free book.

Or a music quest to add a music room. Playing music soothes the savage 'beast' (breast). Creates something to tame the attack or health of rare monsters.

Not a bad idea, but if I may have a suggestion, now when there is a way to level up a kitchen, wouldn't it be nice to get a way to level up/train those pets that are still on their basic levels - bunnies, horses, falcons, squirels and cats. Not all at once, mind you, but once in a while one of those would be really nice.

I'm fine with them doubling all drops unless it's something "special" like an orb or a book or something. If it's a token, or potion or something like that then it's fine to double. Keep in mind that it's only common and timed monsters so none of the uncommon or rares get doubled.

Lol. We'll see. I already have my idea for the next big thing and that will probably take a few months to get out. So we'll see where we sit after that. Although the orb of air reduces option A to 49 books and option B to 43, so there is less of a gap, anything to reduce the number of books I need to use helps!

We're also going to need more monsters. The Cliffhanger is toast tomorrow.

message 5815: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2570 comments Wow, Reva! How are you going about it? The monster has 100 AP, even with Rocky and a shield potion, it's first blow has to be more than 40 AP, i.e. more than any hero's maximum HP. So what's the trick? Share it with us. *wink*

At first I started working the battle they way one normally would switching the attack and health etc. then I realized WHOA. I don't have to do that. Just have 100 attack points so that's what you see below. Of course I won't slways have so many acorns but now there's an incentive to complete the monthly acorn quest.

Attack 398 The Cliffhanger 4/4/2016 .

The Cliffhanger is a foul beast, making even the best of heroes flip flop on their view of the world. It increases anxiety to a frantic level and at the bottom, a terrible fate.
100 attack 100 HP - The Cliffhanger switches its hp and attack at the end of each round.

1 Shield Red Gem
1 Pet Plus potion  ( in effec until 4/4/16)
1 Damage Potion ( in effec until 4/4/16)
1 Enhanced Weapon Potion ( in effec until 4/4/16)
1 Minor Poison Potions +2

✯Hero Lvl 12 ✯HP: 9 +2 ✯Sword Lvl 6 (+6)=12+B✯Staff Level 17(+6) =23+B ✯Exp 2041

Round 1
100 attack Health 100 HP
Hero Attacks The Cliffhanger 17 + 2 + 2 horse + 4 puppy + 4 cat + 3 orb + 3 damage potion + 3 enhanced weapon potion + 1 bauble = 39 - 100 = 61 HP
Red Gem attack 17 + 2 + 3 orb + 3 damage potion + 3 enhanced weapon potion + 1 bauble = 29 - 61 = 32 HP
Slings 32 acorns 32 - 32 = The Cliffhanger is Dead

Reward: 50 Experience, 6 Potion Tokens (may be exchanged at Jack and Jill's for any potion), 15 Gold, 2HP

✯Hero Lvl 12 ✯HP: 11 +2 ✯Sword Lvl 6 (+6)=12+B✯Staff Level 17(+6) =23+B ✯Exp 2091

AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!

BTW, Zuzana - I just went through the falcon quest to set it up and it needs 10 books, not 9.
5 for mouse

1 bird

Shanna_redwind | 598 comments When using a gift card to complete an retired quest, can you use one to put a few more books on a quest even if you're not going to be able to complete it in the month given by the gift card, then use a timewalking or another gift card at another time to finish it up?

message 5835: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9625 comments Gift cards were meant to be used on quests that are about to expire, but we haven't had one of those in a while.

As far as I know, expired quests can be reopened only with timewalking potion. I might be wrong. Can't really remember all details

message 5836: by Shanna_redwind (new)

Shanna_redwind | 598 comments Quests that have expired may be completed by using a NBRC Gift Card or a Time Walking Potion

This is the last line on the first post of the quests page :)

okay :) As I said I don't remember all the ruling we had and I didn't went to search for it. :)
I guess then it's obvious I don't know how to answer your question.

message 5838: by Shanna_redwind (new)

Shanna_redwind | 598 comments I knew where it was, so I figured posting it was easier than you looking for it. This is pretty much the only thing I do on NBRC, so I just wanted to make use of those gift cards any way I could.

message 5839: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 522 comments I think once you use one of those on an expired quest then it's just in unexpired status for you. At least that was my understanding since there were no limits established that I saw saying the timewalking potion would re-open an expired quest but only for x amount of time and then it would be expired for you again.

That's fine. The wording of the gift cards is interesting with how it applies to RPG since it can be used on challenges that have expired or to provide more time to one you're already working on.

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments For the Shield Potion, do we round up or down when halving damage done? (please say down!) For example would 19AP be 9 or 10 damage done? Or does this come down to what Zuzana was talking about.

Original attack was 20 with -1 for Rocky the Rock. Do I halve it then subtract 1?

Hrm... Ok, what I thought I had answered was on a different question. As for your question.

Reva used her shield not a shield potion.

The shield potion works opposite of what you think it does:
Shield Potion - 15 Gold - Halves the damage taken by monsters for a single turn.
(You can read the quest for a description of why) and is used in very particular circumstances.

message 5847: by Teresa (last edited Apr 04, 2016 09:35PM) (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Huh? I thought it was for use against the queens halving the damage they do to you (else they would kill you in one shot). What does it actually do then? The monster gets the benefit? I thought that was the weakening potion.... and what quest are you referring to?

Please and thanks!

message 5848: by Daphne (new)

Daphne (daphnesm) | 937 comments I'm confused now too. I was really hoping to use those Shield Potions for the tough fights and the group ones. What would that ever be useful for besides maybe that single Hydra, but that one is easier to kill with poison potion/nuts exactly.

message 5849: by Daphne (new)
