Kelly | 4 comments The main characters (teens) wear devices on their heads that are a brain-computer interface to display messages directly to their brains. The teen goes to a fancy party where there are large bubbles as decorations. The teen cleans houses to earn money.

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5545 comments Can you explain / describe the bubbles more?
What are the fantasy elements in the story?
Roughly when (what year) did you read this?
Was the main character a teen boy or teen girl?

Kelly | 4 comments The protagonist goes to a party, I think by themself, and is looking to see a person they like (crush). It is a lavish party and the decor involves large multi colored bubbles that kind of float in the air.

There might be a drug element to the plot... and a house cleaner.

The book was written from 2005 to 2015 ish.

Kelly, what makes this a fantasy novel?

That's a good start, but we need more information in the header/title at the top of the page. Many members only read the headers. We have thousands of YA requests.

Copy more plot details from your message #1 to the header by clicking the small "edit" link after the header. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app. (On the Mobile website, there's a "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.)

Kelly | 4 comments Book was written appx 2005-2015. The protagonist (boy or girl, not sure) goes to a party alone and looks for the boy/girl they like. There may be some drug use and a housekeeper in the plot....

Rainbowheart | 28682 comments There's something kinda like that in Wither. Something about bubbles or lights at a garden party?

message 7: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 4 comments RainbowHeart, Thanks so much for commenting! I checked out Wither but that is not it.....

in this book, the boy/girl cleans houses of wealthy people to earn money.

I think they wear devices on their heads which they can use to send messages too.

Was this just a dream of mine? If so, maybe I will write this book. Ha!

Angela | 625 comments This might be a long shot, but what about Princess of Glass (The Princesses of Westfalin Trilogy, #2) by Jessica Day George Princess of Glass by Jessica Day George? It's a Cinderella retelling that has a party, a housekeeper, and a princess falling for a prince. I haven't read it myself, so I'm not sure about the bubbles.

Kelly is still looking for this book:

"YA - 2010s? - girl likes boy, girl (or her mom) works cleaning the boy’s house, she goes to a bubble party looking for him, set in the future, substance abuse issue (pills) with boy? People wear glasses where messages and internet is visible directly in their minds? TIA!"
