I got my dates mixed up with another challenge. I'll be picking for you now. So sorry!

message 159: by ~~*Julie (new)

~~*Julie Kawalec-pearson (jewel77) | 85 comments Kimberly. . I am so sorry this has taken so long. I have actually started to write recommendations for you three different times now and have delete them... Grrr....
So this was a little difficult because we have very few books in common, a whopping 8. Lol. But this is all about new experiences so I am hoping that you don't hate everything that I recommend!

Snow White: I am going to recommend Boundaries When to Say Yes and How to Say No by Henry Cloud. This has been on your TBR Shelf a while and has a white cover. Also I have a book on my dresser that is very similar as I need to get some stuff right in my life. Maybe you can send me the cliff notes to boundaries? Or not...lol..

Ariel: Hmm. A book near water or a YA. I am giving you a twofer and going to recommend Maggie Stievater's Scorpio Races. It is about water horses. Very unusual. I really loved it and thought it was a great read. Very different than what it looks like you have read before.

Belle: going to recommend Guilty Pleasures by Laurel K. Hamilton. not sure if it's technically a shifter romance. She doesn't discriminate. She gets it on with everyone but she is a kick ass female heroine. Some major love interests going on.

Cinderella: the s.e.c.r.e.t. shared by adaline marie... sounds hot. Going to add it to my tbr list. Recommend a book with a blue cover or a book that has been released in the last 6 months.

Anna: Recommend a book snow or ice on the cover or that takes place near the snow. Or a book with a lot of hype that you think your pickee will love.

Repunzel: a book I would not normally pick up on my own but was recommend to me now I LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM. The Joe Ledger Series by Jonathan maberry. You can start with patient zero. He also has a YA series if you are down for some zombies. I would promise you will get HOOKED. He is a brilliant author.

Tiana: miracle on the 17th green by james Patterson.. cant go wrong with james patterson. It's green

Mulan: anything by Charlaine harris.. the Sookie Stackhouses were good but i loved her Grave sight series and her Real Murder book. That one is a stand alone book.

I hope you fine something that you don't think sucks! Lol
I once again apologize for taking forever!

Hi Kathy,

When I first saw the picks, my brain exploded. All I could think was... WOW!!!

Thank you

For my NEW picks I will add for February
[[book:Extreme Exposure]
Behind Closed Doors
Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1) by Pamela Clare Behind Closed Doors (McClouds & Friends #1) by Shannon McKenna

For my TBR picks
Sought
Hold on to Me
Sought (Brides of the Kindred, #3) by Evangeline Anderson Hold on to Me (Against All Odds, #2) by Elisabeth Naughton

...and hopefully a couple more

A shout out to MacWolf01[Elise]!

Thanks for all the great picks! There are several I'm hoping to read in February....and all of them, if time allows. Thanks so much for all your time and consideration!

message 162: by Pamela Su (last edited Jan 27, 2015 07:06PM) (new)

Pamela Su (thebluebaroness) | 194 comments Hi Tania!

Here are my picks for you. I hope you find something you like.

Snow White: Come Away with Me (TBR)

Ariel: The Last Time I Was Me (TBR)

Belle: Venetia (NEW) You don't seem to have read anything by Georgette Heyer. Her writing style is not like today's historical romances but I saw that you have read some classics (which are even older!) and enjoyed them. So I hope you find this enjoyable if you try it out.

Cinderella: A Reason To Believe (TBR)
Runabout (NEW) I was given this book for my 13th birthday because of the author's name. I am not a big fan of small town Americana historical romances but Pamela Morsi became one of my all-time favourite authors. I hope you enjoy this if you choose to read it.

Anna: Kodiak's Claim (TBR)
Club Shadowlands (NEW) Lots of hype! I rather enjoyed it and you don't seem opposed to BDSM books.

Rapunzel: Rock Me (NEW) - I loved this book! I hope you don't mind reading out of sequence. It can be read as a standalone. Really sexy hero!

Tiana: Lost Lake (TBR)

Mulan: Bitten (TBR)

Edit: if I have picked something you already read and would like a re-pick, please PM me. Have been a bit busy at work these last few weeks and I am a bit scatter-brained now. :D

Thanks, Runell! :D :D I'll let you know what I read later.

Madison ✨ | 90 comments Hey Fran,
Here are your picks, hope you find one you enjoy. Let me know if you would like me to re-pick them for you.

Thanks!
Kristin

Snow White: Recommend a book with a white cover. Or a book that has been on your pickee’s TBR for a while, at least over a year (unless they don’t have one that old, just pick one of the oldest).

NEW: Saving Grace by Julie Garwood – It seems that you are a Garwood fan like me, this is one of my favorites from her. This also has a white cover and is an older book.

TBR: Stirring Up Trouble by Z.A. Maxfield – it has a white cover and is one of the oldest on your TBR “a-pifm-shelf”.

Saving Grace by Julie Garwood Stirring Up Trouble (Stir, #1) by Z.A. Maxfield

Ariel: Recommend a book with water on the cover or that takes place near water. Or a YA/NA book.

NEW: Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan – this book has water on the cover, takes place near water and is a YA book—score! :) Regardless, this book deservedly received a lot of hype and is a good book. Keep some tissues nearby while reading.

TBR: Before He Was Gone by Becky Wicks – looks like a fun book that has water on the cover and takes place on a remote island.

Archer's Voice (A Sign of Love) by Mia Sheridan Before He Was Gone (Starstruck, #2) by Becky Wicks

Belle: Recommend a book with a yellow cover or a shifter romance.

NEW: Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian – (you can also switch this for A Touch of Midnight as that is the first novella in the series (0.5) and is on your TBR list). This isn’t really a shifter book (its about vampires which is in the paranormal genre so I thought it was close lol) but is a series I enjoyed and this one has a yellow cover.

TBR: My Shifter Showmance by R.G. Alexander – A shifter romance that looks really entertaining.

Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian My Shifter Showmance (Shifting Reality, #1) by R.G. Alexander

Cinderella: Recommend a book with a blue cover or a book that has been released in the last 6 months.

NEW: Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fischer – blue cover and was released earlier this month. This is also on my TBR shelf so if you read it let me know if you like it.

TBR: Disarm by June Gray – blue cover

Never Never (Never Never, #1) by Colleen Hoover Disarm (DISARM, #1) by June Gray

Anna: Recommend a book snow or ice on the cover or that takes place near the snow. Or a book with a lot of hype that you think your pickee will love.

NEW: Dangerous Lover by Lisa Marie Rice – this book was a suspense novel that kept me engaged throughout. The story also takes place near the snow.

TBR: Iced by Karen Marie Moning – You (like me) read the rest of the Fever series and gave them all 5 stars. I’ve been meaning to continue the series but usually get so sucked in and so frustrated with the cliffhanger endings that I’m debating on waiting until the entire series is complete so I don’t have to wait in between books. Hopefully this is as good as the previous 5 in the series.

Dangerous Lover (Dangerous, #1) by Lisa Marie Rice Iced (Fever, #6) by Karen Marie Moning

Repunzel: Recommend a book with pink on the cover or a book with totally swoonworthy hero.

NEW: You Don't Have to Say You Love Me – pink cover and such a fun book. You seem to like contemporary romance and I just thought this was a fun, modern and funny book.

TBR: Remember When by T. Torrest – looks like such a fun book with a famous swoonworthy hero, I even put this on my own TBR list

You Don't Have to Say You Love Me by Sarra Manning Remember When (Remember Trilogy, #1) by T. Torrest

Tiana: Recommend a book with a green cover or a book with magic and/or witches.

NEW: Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen – you seem to also enjoy Allen’s novels and this one is, to me, another gem from her. An added bonus is that this book has a pinch of magical realism and a green cover so it really fits the category :)

TBR: Crazy in Love by Kristin Miller – green cover

Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen Crazy in Love (Blue Lake, #3) by Kristin Miller

Mulan: Recommend a book with a weapon on the cover or a book with a kickass heroine.

NEW: Cry No More by Linda Howard – this book’s heroine is pretty kickass as her inner strength and determination is what kept this book moving. Howard is a favorite author of mine and IMHO this is her best.

TBR: Marley in Chains by R.G. Alexander – Sorry I picked another book from the same author but this one was the closest to a weapon on the cover. Chains count right? :)

Cry No More by Linda Howard Marley in Chains by R.G. Alexander

Snow White: Recommend a book with a white cover. Or a book that has been on your pickee’s TBR for a while, at least over a year (unless they don’t have one that old, just pick one of the oldest).
The Assignment (Assignment, #1) by Evangeline Anderson (TBR) - This has been on your shelf for far too long. I think you will really like this one. I got such a kick out of this book.

Ariel: Recommend a book with water on the cover or that takes place near water. Or a YA/NA book.
Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo (NEW) - Not only one of my favorite YA books, but one of my favorite books period. Crazy awesome world building.

Belle: Recommend a book with a yellow cover or a shifter romance.

Cinderella: Recommend a book with a blue cover or a book that has been released in the last 6 months.
The Boyfriend Mandate (The Boyfriend Chronicles, #2) by River Jaymes (TBR) - This one just came out in October. Great series!

Anna: Recommend a book snow or ice on the cover or that takes place near the snow. Or a book with a lot of hype that you think your pickee will love.
Frozen Heart (Love Lessons, #1.5) by Heidi Cullinan (TBR) - Too perfect for this category!

Repunzel: Recommend a book with pink on the cover or a book with totally swoonworthy hero.

Tiana: Recommend a book with a green cover or a book with magic and/or witches.

For Belle, Arys recommended Enforcer (Cascadia Wolves, #1) by Lauren Dane

Story had such potential. So much potential. But about a third of the way in, it totally lost me. To the point it couldn't redeem itself. I skipped over the sex. There's only so many times you can read the word 'honey' (and not as a pet name). May or may not read others in the series though. I'm still undecided.

Kaity | 492 comments Hi Rebecca! I finished my first pick from you, The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa. Thank you so much for picking it! I probably would have kept putting it off despite enjoying the first in the series, but your push got me to read it :P I have to confess that fae stories really aren't my favorite... I actually kinda dread them because of how cruel and twisted faeries can be. I ended up loving the storyline and the vast majority of The Iron Daughter. Unfortunately Meghan's flip flopping between Ash and Puck wore on me a lot. I didn't mind the triangle in the first book but absolutely hated how it was used in this one. Bummer! On the plus side though I absolutely loved Tiaothin and Ironhorse and am excited to see what happens in the next book.
