I think I need to re-read that one. I read it chapter by chapter as she released them on Wattpad so sometimes there were 3 chapters in a day, then it could go weeks without one. I think I'd enjoy it more if I could just start at the beginning and work straight through.

Task 3: 1. Each player reads a book by the same author, teams decide author - no pass for this task.
Confess by Colleen Hoover
Read: 10/1/20
Pages: GR Kindle ~ 320
How if fits: Written by team chosen author, Colleen Hoover
Rating: 4 stars
Original rating (July 2017): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Re-read rating (October 2020): ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I don't change my original star ratings on a re-read so my rating will remain showing 5 stars. I originally read this in 2017 and so much of it has stuck with me, but I was also surprised at how much I’d forgotten. I think I wanted to block out all the feels it rips from your chest. It sure seems as if the whole world is against Owen and Auburn, not just in their romantic relationship with each other, but in almost every other part of their young lives. It leaves you covered in a huge shadow of emotional heaviness throughout the whole story. If you don’t like angst, this is not the book for you. These two don’t always make the best decisions and Auburn is a bit of a doormat, but I just can’t help but forgive them and want them to have their happily ever after.

Anyway, I’m 28% and completely sucked in and feel I MUST know the mystery of what we don’t know about these characters.

I still got on the list for both of these at the library because I do think they both sound good.

I'm reading another one of hers this week too. :)

Have there been any notifications from Goodreads that they are working on it? Or an ETA when we'll get them back. I really miss them.

Do you think I should just check us in? I don't think Cyndee would mind. I'm planning my reading for the week so it would be great to know what our new task will be.

I hope they can fix it soon! I also feel like I’m missing some challenges without them. I keep searching through my old notifications hoping I’m catching everything as I plan this week’s books.
I’m trying to wait since I know this one has to be started after we get a task.

Never mind, I refreshed it while you were still working on it. I just hit it just at the right moment. I have all these tabs open and just keep refreshing. My poor computer has no idea what is going on.

LOL I have a ton of tabs open too tracking everything 🤣
Thanks for checking us in, Leslie!!

4. Read 4 books tagged/shelved as PNR or fantasy.
These tags to not need to be MPG, but the books you select need to be tagged PNR, paranormal or fantasy. Please include a link to the top shelves page of your qualifying tag along with the page number and number of tags. This is most helpful as tags move and sometimes links break. 😊
Seriously, the randomizer loves the low numbers for this team!!

Well, I found the one I want to read. Now I just need to squeeze it in somewhere.

Book: Obsidian
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pages: 287 per Kindle edition Goodreads
Date Read: 06 Oct 2020

Starting this one in the morning. It's the same I'm doing for Going to the Fair and it's a short one so I should be done with it tomorrow night or Thurs morning!

On the plus side it fit 3 challenges. :-)

4. Read 4 books tagged/shelved as PNR or fantasy.
Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Read: 10/8/20
Pages: GR Kindle ~ 309
How if fits: MPG Fantasy
Rating: 4 stars (pushing 5, honestly. I debated it for far too long)
I’m coming to realize, despite my continued resistance to the fantasy genre, that I really love some of these retellings of old fairy tales. I went into this one a little hesitant though, because Peter Pan just isn’t a favorite of mine, but wow, was it delightful! Told from Tinkerbell’s POV about Peter Pan’s first love, Tiger Lily, and filled with fascinating characters from a serial killing Smee to gender fluid Tik Tok to social outcast Pine Sap, I was swept up through the whole story. It addresses some hard hitting issues like equality, acceptance, and religion, and the possibility that the love we thought we wanted may not be the best love for us, all while paying homage to the original Peter Pan story. It is heartbreaking and magical and I loved every fantasy-filled minute of it.

Oooh Queen of Air and Darkness is my next book in Shadowhunter world and I’m hoping to get to it this month. Lord of Shadows gutted me at the end so I had to recover first.
