Great!

I loved book one and I loved this sequel. The mystery unfolded nicely and the moments of suspense had me engaged and I liked the descriptions of police work, ranching, and hockey; it gave dimension to the characters. So often in other books careers are assigned to characters but you never see them do the job. These guys loved their jobs and it shows.

I loved seeing the guys work through their insecurities to emerge stronger.

I loved the first half of the story, but the latter half is just okay and too predictable. I can understand that 'coming out' is the single most scary and important issue with gay sportsmen, but I wish there is something more in their stories. Like the BDSM angle here; but it didnt go far in this book.

Loved the MCs, especially Jake and his Zen maturity. Great cover !

No need to correct, but this qualification doesn't work. The qualification for this task needed to come from tags/shelves. Your book did qualify, so no worries. I'm only pointing this out for future tasks. 😊

Please correct to the Kindle edition page count - 197 isn't a page count for this book. 😊

MountainKat | 31593 comments Since I'm not requiring corrections - yet, here is Task 4:

2. Each player reads the first book in a series, can be same or different series - no pass for this task.

The books you choose for this task need to be number 1 or lower in a series listed on GR. Prequels count as long as they meet the other challenge requirements.

Teresa (teresab78) | 1064 comments The only difficulty I’ll have with this task is picking just one. I have so many firsts in my queue!

Madelyn (madelynkontis) | 108 comments Gah! The one time I leave my Kindle at home! I would have turned around to get it, but that would've made my brother late to work. I'll have to use the app on my phone to at least pick it out.

I promise, the book qualifies. I neglected to state that it's tagged "Sports" because one of the main characters plays football.

Loved this odd group of adventurers Lisa Henry has given us. Loth with his snarky tongue is adorable. I was smiling through out ,especially during their trip through swamp. I was reminded of TJ Klune's book , but this story is not as manic as that.

Definitely going to read the sequel.

This was different in a good way. I loved the push and pull between Seb and Zach. The game was a cross between survivor and hunger games. It ends on a hfn but I’m eagerly looking forward to the rest of their story!!!

Teresa (teresab78) | 1064 comments I'm finishing up Skin and Bone by T.A. Moore it's ok so far but not the best I've read from this author. The mystery is interesting but the relationship is a mess. I read the first book for one of my challenges this week and figured I'd see if book two was better...

message 132: by Madelyn (new)

Madelyn (madelynkontis) | 108 comments If you like historical romance and mystery, yes. Oh, and long-lasting relationships. The first book is when Jonty and Orlando meet, and they're still together 14 years later. I haven't read all of them*, but I love the ones I have.

*My local library system had this weird tendency to have incomplete series. Like, they'll have the evens only, or 1-3, 5, 7 &8.

I really like that series, though I like the DSP covers better. I have the first few in paperback, but I'm sad I can't complete the series with those covers.
