There is a 150 page minimum for books, rereads and audios ok. Books may only be used once per player during the challenge. Players may read the same book for a task unless otherwise specified. Books do not have to be romance, but must be fiction.
**For this challenge, use the GR Kindle first edition page count if available. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis**
Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.
Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.
PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 14, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

ETA: Found one! Signed up as I was posting the team threads - great timing!

This is my first time playing this game, so old timers can guide me. Excited to play.

I'm a wife, and mother of two. I have 4 cats, love coffee, and love to crochet though I'm in a bit of a slump with that atm.
This is also my first time playing this game. I think we should come up with a name. I have a few ideas but want to get to know everyone more.

The Book Lit Chicks
Trashy Bookers
The Amazing Quartet.
Teresa, do bring out your suggestions.

We can choose Reading Rainbows as our team name then. Has anyone played this game before? They can be team captain / leader here.

I haven’t done this challenge before but I can help keep things flowing if no one else wants to.

0. As a team select your favorite month of 2019 (because 2020 basically SUCKS!) and each player reads a book initially published in that month. No pass for this task.
For this task we are using the initial publication date. If one is listed at the top of the editions page, use that. Otherwise I will be looking for the first published date of an English language edition. Remember to use the first English language Kindle edition for your page count and ensure that your completion posts contain all the required information listed in message #3 of your team thread

Okay, Teresa. That had be great. MountainKat has already posted 1st task. Can we decide on a month in 2019 then?

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
Any other month is also okay.

I'm reading Prince of Death by Sam Burns. Sam Burns' books are always a 4 or 5 for me.

I havent gone through the whole list myself yet. Shall check it out soon .

Just wanted to clarify, the next task won't be assigned BEFORE Tuesday. Each team will be given their next task after they finish this one, just not before Tuesday. If you finish on Wednesday, you will get your next task within 24 of notifying me in the Q&A thread. You can go at your own pace. 😊 Though, I know there are teams that will finish that quickly every task and will get a new one every other day.

Suggestions for SERIES - Widdershins, Where Death Meets the Devil, Straight Boy, The Fireman and the Cop, My Fair Captain

Sam Burns, Amy Lane,Jordan L. Hawk, Angel Martinez, Rhys Ford, Hailey Turner
9. Each player reads a book in the same series, teams decide. No pass for this task.
I liked your suggestions Laks, though I've read all of Widdershins. I really need a series I already own a book or is available on KU as I have no book budget
12. Read a book recommended to you by a teammate - no pass for this task.
I think we should take our team list and everyone recommends for the person below them:
Madelyn
Teresa
Emeli
Laks
27. Read a minimum of 750 pages in books published in any one year prior to 2018, team picks the year.
hmm, I don't think the year really matters. I don't have a preference
29. Read over 750 pages in books about the same profession, teams decide which profession.
easiest here would be law enforcement
33. Read 6 books in the same sub-genre, teams decide.
I'm all for paranormal or sci-fi or fantasy
50. Read 6 books set in the same location, teams decide the location.
52. Read 6 books with the same color cover, teams decide color.
53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.
I believe this can just be the country if outside US unless you live in a big city, which I do not. So for me this would be Canada
54. Read 6 books set on a beach or in the mountains, teams decide which.
I'd pick beach Though not all of these are set on a beach, there are quite a few Gay Beach Reads
55. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
I'd pick England/Great Britain as there is a lot of choice there
56. As a team, pick a list with over 100 romance books on it, each member reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
We could pick one of the bingo lists
58. Read 6 books published in the year one of the teammates joined RRRC, teams decide which teammate.
I joined in 2011

Lol. Thanks a lot Amanda. We are swimming in the dark here. Any help is appreciated. I went through the whole list today only and was totally exhausted after that :-)

How to Shield an Assassin by A.J. Sherwood
Straight Boy by Alessandra Hazard
Red Dirt Heart by N.R. Walker
He Completes Me by Cardeno C.
A Ferry of Bones & Gold by Hailey Turner

Another series I want to try is Jocelynn Drake's Lord of Discord. Book 1 is Claiming Marcus
I hope the others show up soon so we can make some headway :D
If mmromance counts as a subgenre then we totally should choose that.

I have read Claiming Marcus and its an okay read, but I can try the next book in series . No problem.

I will PM them now and hopefully they will come soon.

That's great Madelyn. Hope it wasn't too much trouble. When free, take a look at our tasks and give your opinion on them.

Book from fav month of 2019 - March
In Safe Hands by Victoria Sue
Published in March 2019
230 pages / kindle/GR
Finished reading - 15.9.2020
Review : 3 stars
Deacon is a disgraced music star , who needs protection from a murderous stalker. Mav is a damaged ex military guy, wallowing in depression and booze, currently tasked with bodyguard duty of Deacon.
The murder mystery was interesting with a psycho on the loose. The instalove between MCs didn't do much for me, felt it was too circumstantial rather than an open choice.

Thanks Teresa. I started the book thinking I should finish in one day and was speeding up. But as it turns out we can take enough time for our reading.

I loved the twining of myth and reality - although the reality in this book is that magic exists so there’s that. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and I see much potential for the rest of the series. I kept expecting a big betrayal for some reason but I was glad how it all worked out. Enjoyable read!!
