30.2 - Dlmrose's Task: In Balance

In the astrological zodiac, September 23 - October 22 is identified as the sun sign of Libra, the Balance.

Read 2 books where both books have the same number of words in their titles AND the same number of characters in their authors' names. Subtitles should be ignored. Spaces determine words.
All name parts count. Punctuation, symbols and numbers count as a character, spaces do not. Each book must be written by a single different author.

Ex.
The Mind's Eye by Oliver Sacks 3 word title, 11 character name
She's Leaving Home by William Shaw 3 word title, 11 character name

J.D. Robb has 8, not 6

Devious, yet fairly open-ended at the same time. I like, too!

Melanie (melaina) | 380 comments Whoops!!
So J.D. Robb and J. R. Ward should be 8 each. Sorry about that! Thanks:)

No, the task states "Each book must be written by a single different author."

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3675 comments Just to be paranoid, for the purposes of this, J.R.R. Tolkien is 13 letters, right?

Jecca | 733 comments Can the books both have a one-word title? It says number of words, plural, so I wanted to check first.
Thanks

yes

Julia (julia103) | 2717 comments Making sure I understand the counting:

Queen Bess: Daredevil Aviator by Doris L. Rich
and
Freedom Flyers: The Tuskegee Airmen of World War II by J. Todd Moye
both have two word title (ignoring subtitle) and both authors have 10 characters. Is that right?

(I have a list of possibilities for 25.9 (Black Books Matter), and noticed that these might work here as well.)

Punctuation must be counted
Doris L. Rich = 5+2+4 = 11
J. Todd Moye = 2+4+4 = 10

Just checking...
since it says spaces determine words, then is
Western Rivermen, 1763-1861: Ohio and Mississippi Boatmen and the Myth of the Alligator Horse
a 3-word title? That's how I interpreted it.

Kathy
