@what do you think is an absolute joke of a price, I probably paid it LOL!!
Why is Vol. 2 so pricey anyhow? I assume they have not reissued these and are all in first edition format only.
I could get one with bloody water damage for £160 or if you I want one that is really good condition still second hand I'm looking at £310!!!I want a bit of return should I have to sell them, especially if they are reprinting! I really hope they don't do a reprint.

Wow, hope you got a good deal on them Frank. :) I love the run. While I'm not worried you won't, if you don't, as many people as there are trying to chase these down I suspect you can recoup your money.
I won a couple Ebay auctions myself recently. I should have the OHC for X-Men Messiah Complex on it's way to me soon along with Battle of the Atom from the same seller. They were both well under the going rate and I wanted to eventually pick them up so I pulled the trigger.
Looking forward to new solicit news from SDCC this week. =)

I've just received Thor HC vol 2. They always seem to send it to me before the official release date, which in this case was the 15th July.
Nice pick up on Thor. I know in the US there are two release dates, the comic books store release date is a week or two before the bookstore release date. So for us here the second Thor Aaron OHC came out last Wednesday for comic book stores and come out on Amazon (and with other book stores) on the 14th. It does make the release dates in my lists here a bit of a mishmash since many times I'm not sure which date is listed when I find the data the first time. I try to update to the early date eventually. However, sometimes the first time something is sneaked/confirmed for release is an Amazon listing.

Ouch, wow, the one I picked up is new (I hope) , paid $180 for it. The others were much cheaper.
I will let you know the condition once I get them in.
@Rel:I placed an order on IST on 7/1 and it still has not been fulfilled as of yet.
I noticed that Vol.2 of FF by Hickman hasn't been pulled, did you hear anything on it being out of stock??

That's a great deal if it can be picked up close to that.
Alistair - it isn't foolproof but setting up a search to follow on eBay helps. You can get email notifications for new listings... unfortunately it only seems to update once / day so you may miss out on deals. Also to increase your chances at saving some money try a sniping program. It sucks and I hated getting sniped but I ended up saving quite a bit of money by using it.
I've noticed a lot of premium Omnibuses have slowly been dropping in price on eBay (exceptions being some of the very rare ones). Uncanny X-Force, Death of Captain America, Inferno, Simonson Thor... these have been going for <$200 over the past month or two. They were up above $225 earlier this year.
Cheers for the tips. I've already got notifications on searches but didn't know about sniping programs.
@Sage, I know what sniping is, but people have written scripts to do that? Or you sign up on a website that does it for you? I've always just done it manually, waiting seconds before the end of the auction. Sniping is the only way to win popular stuff IMO, unless you have a lot of money. I wish it wasn't that way, but it is.
@Frank, I've had orders take a week sometimes for them to be filled. Usually when it is an "older" item and not just released.

I use auctionsniper.com for my sniping. The UI is kinda crappy but I've used them for years and haven't had an issue. I think most sniping programs require your eBay login though. If you are concerned about that maybe make a separate account that is not linked to your PayPal account and only use it for sniping. There are others out there I'm sure. I've missed out on some auctions with auctionsniper.com because of the crappy UI... Once you figure it out it's pretty reliable.
I just used Auctionsniper.com last night for the first time in years. =) It's an older site but it works just fine.
What I don't understand is how so many people are missing out on all those other wonderful omnibuses. It's all the Marvel ones that are OPP. I suppose it's just awareness. People are missing out on Sandman, planetary, doom patrol, sleeper, fear agent etc. I suppose it makes them cheaper for us though :)
I think it just shows how the public really has Marvel in their mind. They are loving the movies and most of the stigma about reading comics is gone.
I just bought the digital edition for the 3 volumes of Knightfall. It's been on my to buy list for a while and the volumes were so cheap( 4.99$ each) I figure if one day I want the paper version I can still do it.
I really enjoyed Knightfall. I'd buy an omnibus set if they released one. I have not read the new editions though. They added some additional material. They are on my eventually I ought to check this out list.
Superman Doomed is showing up as $35 on Amazon here.

Good spot Aildiin. I'm gonna get the three knight falls as well. At,that prix it would be dumb not to.
Alistair wrote: "Holy swizzle! Superman doomed is £3.99. It was £29.99 before today! Buying!"I think Alistair means the digital version. ( Kindle or comixology).

Just saw this. Already gone. Was $185 plus shipping a good price on this item?
Look at this on Ebay, close to the same price as the UK when you factor in shipping. Of course condition is always a factor.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Uncanny-X-For...
Even though my wallet is past maxed out, I just ordered the GJ Green Lantern Omnibus and the East of West First Year HC. I'm going to push off Thor OHC V2 until later.
Blindzider wrote: "Even though my wallet is past maxed out, I just ordered the GJ Green Lantern Omnibus and the East of West First Year HC. I'm going to push off Thor OHC V2 until later."Well, well, well... this is becoming a habit Gentleman. You lot are a terrible influence on me.
Likewise! :)
One thing that keeps pushing me is this fear that something is going OOP, although it doesn't seem to happen with the DC stuff that much.
I'm going to really have to try and not buy anything the rest of the month...

yeah you hit the nail on the head. I'm like "oh no must buy it now!"

Except Batman Gothic Deluxe that comes out next week, right? :p :D Then GL omnibus 2 comes out on the 29th.

No Gothic for me. I didn't care for it.
That's another thing about "hurry up and buy". Stuff is on sale that first week or two so you can't really wait or you lose money. I'm sure I'll get GL V2 as well.

I guess I could add that I ordered the East of West HC, Fatale Deluxe 1, and Thor OHC 2 for this weeks order.
Yeah, those bigger omnibus volumes give you some decent savings if you get them 50% vs waiting. It usually ends up being about $12 less.

Gotcha. I haven't read it yet so I'll probably pick it up. I have most of the rest of Morrison's Batman run.

I feel partly to blame for this spree lately. In any event I just ordered from Amazon, Locke and Key deluxe edition Vol. 1, and JLA omnibus Vol. 1, good prices. I am all over the place, all of these Indy issues sound very interesting.
I bought the OHCs instead of the first Bendis Daredevil omnibus. Much cheaper.
Frank, don't be afraid to take a break from buying to enjoy some reading. :) And just because we like something doesn't mean you can't dislike it if it doesn't work for you.
I'm a fast reader and I have well over 90% of my books read. Which is not good for ye old wallet since I can't really keep up with how much I can read. Fortunately, I'm coaching soccer and playing softball right now so I'm out of the house a few nights a week along with an occasional evening of Call of Duty with my brothers. And I do read other things besides graphic novels. :)

Yeah that's true Frank. Definitely take a break to read. I'm the opposite, I've probably only read about 30% of my collection the rest are still in their wrapping lol. I need to stop and read! Help me! I have a problem haha.
I've just added the Uncanny X-men Omnibuses 1 & 2 to my collection. Oopsy!I also just reviewed Superman: Doom
Read at your own peril.
Doing a bit of reading, although I am waiting in some cases to get the story arcs in the right order before embarking on them, being kind of a completist. In most cases see that an Omnibus like the Infinity Gaunlet really is an complete arc, then you can branch out from there, however, the collections for a specific character may not, or be multiple story arcs. There are so many interesting items to pickup between Omnis, OHC's and trades, it makes me a bit impatient what to choose from thinking that something may go OOP.
Keep giving me all your recommendations, I always check them out.
Thanks.
Isn't the first OHC for the Daredevil Bendis run actually written by Kevin Smith? 1-4 cover the first Omnibus right? Then (part of 4) - 6 cover the 2nd?
The first OHC is written by Kevin Smith. Not that great (sad to say) but it would look weird not having vol 1. Though, volume two spine is different than all the others so it's going to look messed up anyway.
I saw the Brubaker vol 1 Daredevil omnibus go for over $300 on Ebay. I'm happy I have that one but those kind of prices are way to much for me. I couldn't see myself buying it again at that price point even though I love it. I'd def grab the thick TPBs.
My highest spent so far is just under $100 for a commercial product and I spent around $140 buying and binding the complete Abnett and Lanning run on Nova.
