Well, I had to add a few of these recs to my list. 😁 I’ve got to try the hot rh, of course. And the Bujold series is interesting.

FYI team, I'll be finishing another book later tonight, which I can log in the morning, but then I will be mostly offline for a few days. Will keep on reading and be able to log another book (or two) by the time I get back on Monday night :D
Happy 4th of July weekend to those in the U.S! And Happy Friday to everyone else! 😁 it’s going to be hot here. So my husband and I will grill out and make it a movie weekend. Yes, I will read some. But I do need a little break. I went crazy this week with unexpected library books becoming available at the same time. It truly was a challenge week for me!

I hope you enjoy!
Geri, if you like that RH series, that author has a contemporary trilogy that all start with U titles, so if we get a spin with a U in it, I recommend it! :)

And now, of course, we watch the 2nd one as well. :)
With almost exactly a week to go, we have completed 3 spellings, and are about halfway through the fourth. Go team Quixote!!!

Wow, there were a lot of fireworks here last night! It being a Saturday and many of us staying close to home helped, I’m sure. I was able to see some of the light show without leaving my place. Now back to reading. For some reason apocalyptic/post apocalyptic books are what I am craving right now. I’m sure it has nothing at all to do with the pandemic! 😁
I’m here (& I finished The Bird Eater the other day). Gonna catch up on the posts I missed! Been a busy week (& even busier weekend!)Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!

I put this down for N for the author (we have a bunch of Ls right now!), and the Set in Australia book. Let me know if you want to use it for a different task (since I don't know what you plan to read!). We can only change the tasks within the round, though, so once we get to Friday afternoon it will be set in stone.

I also show you on the spreadsheet for Beach Read. Shall I remove that one?

Oh yes! I forgot about that as well. Nope its still good for this round too
Sorry I’ve been a bit slow in my reading the last couple weeks, but I promise things are slowing down, therefore my reading can pick up & get back to normal!
I am hoping our next word has a V, W, S or A. There are some books I have been putting off. But I am ready for more difficult letters like Q and X too. LOL
[[ Frankie ]] wrote: "Sorry I’ve been a bit slow in my reading the last couple weeks, but I promise things are slowing down, therefore my reading can pick up & get back to normal!"It sounds like you have been enjoying the summer. Nothing wrong with that! 😁
Hey team! Just a quick update. We have 3 completed spell-outs on the official spreadsheets, and 2 partials. We just need 2 Ys and an E for those.
On our planning spreadsheet we're into our 9th spelling, so lets try to fill in the holes before we start on another one!
We have 8 out of 10 books for Tags on the spreadsheet, but I believe Michelle is planning a couple more. 4 have been completed.
We have our round 3 word! I'll get the sheet set-up for planning in just a few.Word:
Barbeque
Tags:
Switzerland
Mountain
Freedom
Breathing
Winter
Yes, those are the same tags as this round!
Patrycja wrote: "got back from a library with 4 new books i hope to use during the next round (:"Here's hoping!
Laura wrote: "Yes, those are the same tags as this round!"Dammit, I closed most of my browser tabs of stuff that would work, since it was kind of implied that we would not get the same set of tags twice, like, as part of not getting the same *word* twice.
Good thing I remember some of those books and I haven't purged browser history recently, but argh... :/
Each set of tags is attached to two words. So we for sure won’t get them again! I wonder if A Court of Thorns and Roses has the Mountain tag? I’ll have to check when I get to my computer.
Michelle wrote: "Laura wrote: "Divergent is tagged Mountain? Why?"That's so weird. No clue!"
Well, even for the sake of taking one for the team I'm not willing to go through the heartbreak of the Divergent series again. :)
I found 3 Mountain tags that I'll read for next round. If anyone wants a road trip book, I recommend Amy & Roger's Epic Detour, with the Mountain tag.
And, if you like the Mercy Thompson series, but haven't yet read Charles & Anna's books, I highly recommend Cry Wolf, also with the Mountain tag!
@Captains - can you ask a librarian in Captains Group to add a page count for the following Kindle book?:https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
It's 240 pages according to Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...
Michelle, I’m pretty sure that one was recommended by another team, so it works for one of those tasks.
Does anyone know if Spinning Silver has any character names that would work for BARBEQUE?It's tagged Winter, but if I can't make it fit the spell-out, I can't read it for Round 3... :/
Alysa wrote: "Does anyone know if Spinning Silver has any character names that would work for BARBEQUE?It's tagged Winter, but if I can't make it fit the spell-out, I can't read it for Round 3....."
Sorry. I haven't read it, and I don't see any names in any of the reviews that fit. :)
Laura wrote: "I don't see any names in any of the reviews that fit."Yeah, I checked that too. Maybe I'll ask around in Terminus thread in case someone else can think of a character...
It looks like Geri has read it. She may remember something.I even tried using Amazon to see if I could find out the Duke or the Tsar's names.
Geri, Uglies was recommended by Team Harry Potter, if you want to change the task you've got it down for.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
LaurLa, A Bad Day For Sunshine was also recommended by them. (and by The Hobbit)
Carrie, Still Life was also recommended by them. (and also by the Hobbit)
Michelle wrote: "Let me try to figure out which team recommended it."I might have imagined it. I can't find it anywhere. :)
Alysa - I read the book years ago and don’t remember the names. I looked it up online but none of the MC names work for our word.Laura - Thanks! I will change my task.
Laura wrote: "LaurLa, A Bad For Sunshine was also recommended by them. (and by The Hobbit)"Thanks - I changed it on the Planning SS - let me know if you need me to change it on the real SS.
