I chose option 2 and read Amnesty.

The main character is very much an outsider in Australia - he came on a student visa from Sri Lanka, overstayed his visa, and is now trying to both hide under the radar and act and sound like an Australian, all the while working illegally, and being exploited because of his illegal status.
