Thanks :-) I'm looking up my next books right now!!
Finally finished my 6th book
- it took me like 2 months to read this one (limited reading time available), but I'm done!I probably won't participate in the next couple challenges. I've got a baby on the way (Yay!) and I really need to read my baby books. Also I will probably be too busy/tired once baby comes to get much reading done. Oh well, it's totally worth it. Hopefully, I'll be able to join back in the challenges once I get into the swing of things.
Original post#18.
Congratulations, Amber! Both for finishing the challenge AND for having a fun addition on the way!
We'll miss you over here in challenge-land - but we'll be here for you when you have time to come back :)
Finished my 4th
the D for author's name.I am so behind. I'm pretty sure I can't read 2 books to meet the minimum and pretty much know i can't read 3 to get the fancy level. I need F I and N and have no ideas...
Finished a few more books finally!!! :D My "T" pick
(Loophole, Old Author/New Book) (03/04), my "S" pick,
(03/12) and my "E" pick,
(03/19, Eva)I updated my original post, #19. :D
I finished 3 more to bring my simple level total to 7. I should be able to make it 10, I'm going to try to make it to 12.
updated #12
Finished three more this month.
3/1
3/8
3/22Also updated in post #22. Not sure if I'll get another from the list in before the end of the month but glad to get these ones read.
Alright, I slogged through Uglies so I think that makes my underachieving challenge complete. *wipes sweat from brow
Finished
two days ago. Just need to read one more in the next few days to finish! (original post #13 updated as well)
Does
count as YA, or is it MG? I think I know the answer to this I'm just grasping because I'm running out of time LOL
Screw Fancy Level, no way I can read four more books for it in three days, on top of 8 hour work days/moving! So I'm going to settle for Simple Level, which I have completed already (having read 6 books that fit the criteria). So, CHALLENGE COMPLETE and my original post is updated. :D
update post 255. I finished
That is my last O and the end of my fancy challenge. Commence Happy Dance! Whoop Whoop. :-)
Finished my 5th, the letter F
it's my MG read I think.Ugh I need one more. Unless Treasure Island counts and I'm thinking it doesnt.
Oh this is also my new series by and old author
I finished! This is a first time I've finished a challenge for this group!! EEEeee!!! Now on to the next challenge!Updated #24
Casey wrote: "Does

According to the library system of Chicago (which is what I use to determine where something is categorized) most versions of Treasure Island are classified as adult. (Confusing, as it was originally written for a children's magazine). But in either case, it wouldn't be YA, I don't think. (What do other readers think? I'm willing to be swayed, as I haven't read it!)
Since you're trying to read 7 books (to spell Friends) you'd be allowed a second non-YA book. But I'm not sure how Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson would work for either an I or an N, which are the two letters that it seems you're still lacking?
You could definitely do what a few of us have done, and just finish one more YA and switch to "simple" mode (where only 6 are needed to finish).
Kristie wrote: "updated post 255.I finished
for my H.Just need my last O to finish."
Uh-oh! Kristie, I should've noticed this sooner. The letters to spell out your word was supposed to be either the FIRST letter of the title (excluding The, An, and A) or the First Letter of the author's First or Last name.
So it seems like many of the titles that you used would work (like the O in Of or the H for Glass Houses). D'oh! I'm so sorry I didn't pick up on this, because you're clearly rocking out on reading!!!
I can definitely say that you've successfully finished the simple challenge, and I'm happy to say that you finished you're own version of the fancy challenge - just not quite the one that was intended :)
(I just re-read my rules from earlier and realized they could've been clearer. I thought the example made it clear, but I should've stated it. My apologies!)

Congratulations on your first finish, Rachel!
Also, that baby is AWESOME!

Thanks! Hope you are feeling better. Very weird that Treasure Island is adult. I was only going to use it if I gave up and did "simple" but then I won't get the extra non YA read and i believe First Test is MG so...I'll just probably fail this one unless I Wuthering Heights....Emily would, I think I still have the E to use.
Ah well.
And I just finished with two hours to spare on the west coast <_< I need to stop cutting it so close on challenges.

It's all Good. I'm just proud of myself for finishing my version of the challenge. :-)
In my craziness this year (new job! yay!) I never actually updated anything. I think I only read 2 that qualify. But I hate having my name empty!
I do think I was mistakenly put down for fancy instead of simple, but since I barely made a dent, it doesn't really matter.

Heck ya! You SHOULD be proud!!! I can't believe you read all that in two weeks!!! I am still totally doing an happy dance for you in my chair, at work.

I'm developing an appetite again, yay!
Sadly, Casey - you already chose an E book. Looks like you didn't finish the challenge this time - but take heart! You read a bunch of great books! (Or at least some books - I don't know if you think they were great. Lol).
And there's always the next challenge! I'm only successful at about 50% of the challenges I start here, but it's always fun to try :)

Updated #13"I SO hear you on this. I once finished a challenge within minutes of midnight. Ha! Congratulations, R.A.!

Anna, you were a freakin' rockstar at this challenge!!! SUPER-MEGA CONGRATULATIONS!

Haha! So I did, Emily. The situation is fixed and your 2 books have been noted! Congrats on the new exciting job!
Finished my 4th and 5th book for the simple challenge,
and
respectively. Enjoyed WWL more than Steelheart because of its unique writing style. Steelheart was enjoyable but the main characters are a little too 'perfect' to be interesting and non-annoying.One more to go!

This challenge officially ended on March 31 (at midnight) but you're welcome to finish it up anyway, if you want to finish your final book (I know you read the two you listed prior to the challenge end). I'll continue to make note of it on the progress section at the beginning :)
Gremlin wrote: "Hi Kristina! Just being clear - are you saying that you read all of these for the challenge?"Yes, I have read all 6 this year for the challenge.
