I was kind of surprised Jace let him go through the portal because he seemed to be blindly following him before that. But then again, Jace did realise he wasn’t all that good. (hide spoiler)]

I am not sure how I feel about the last part. I was expecting some unexpected twist to be there, but not this.
And Jace? It didn't even feel like the Jace we had been seeing since the beginning of the book. He seemed like a completely different person on finding the truth about Valentine being his father. And I DID NOT like that sudden change in his character. (hide spoiler)]

Also, that made the whole "love triangle" thing among Clary, Jace and Simon very awkward. I was liking the chemistry between Clary and Jace, but now!? (hide spoiler)]

Though I didn't get why Clary felt the need to apologize to Simon when he found her and Jace kissing. Like she said, Simon wasn't her brother, or her father, and she didn't even know he loved her then. So why apologize and make things complicated...? (hide spoiler)]
