I am not sure what good it would do be for the original plot. It mostly seemed like a diversion.

There are way too many descriptions for every scene, it makes it hard to stay focused while reading, I almost skim through those chunks.

Magnus Bane is much nicer than what I anticipated. For some reason, I expected him to be this all-powerful, arrogant wizard, who preferred to avoid any company. (hide spoiler)]

I am really enjoying the banter. These characters must really love sarcasm to crack a joke with vampires and wolves tearing each other apart around them.

I can't say I liked Raphael, he seemed sketchy from the moment we met him.

Though it's written in third person, it's clear we are basically following Clary around. I wish I could know what other characters what up to all this while (hide spoiler)]

Yeah. We haven't got much from Alec. I would to like to see things from his viewpoint. I would have also liked if we got even a small chapter summarising what Magnus thought of the whole situation.

(view spoiler)[I think maybe Clary sees the way he looks at different people and notices the difference between guys and girls? But I don’t really know. But then Magnus seemed to get the same vibe from him at the party so it must be something?
I would have loved to have seen Valentine. Maybe we haven’t seen him yet to build tension over what he’s really doing. It would be nice to get little glimpses though. (hide spoiler)]

Finished chapter 17 now. I'll be sleeping early today ( or at least that's what my mom expects me to do).
So not sure how much more I'll be able to read. I hope to squeeze in another chapter or two.

Well if we follow our rough 5 thing then that should take us to the end of the book, there’s only 23 chapters.
But I know you did less yesterday, Catrin’s going to be on 10 and I don’t know about Ari so it’s up to you.

I might finish the last 3 chapters and then we can discuss things as you guys get to them?
