Maybe black since we don't have grizzlies in the east?

A picture with Teddy bear status.

I just figured if you run those directions to return to camp, you would be at the North Pole. I also think if a person is camping in a tent at the North Pole, they deserve to be eaten by the polar bear!

Joanna We are officially snowed in at the moment! We've had somewhere around 10 inches of heavy wet snow and it's still falling, and the plow isn't working! Our neighbor is coming over soon to see what he can do but if it's what he thinks it is it won't be fixed today. 🌨️❄️

Al (retreadmaj) | 84 comments Snow......yuk!!!!! I hope y'all are warm and ok until the plow gets fixed. That being said, I grew up in western NC, and we sometimes got snow, but nobody had a plow. I used to think a snow shovel was called a pig shovel because we used them to clean hog barns. The first time I saw more than a few inches of snow was when I went to Alaska for winter warfare training. Yankees made fun of me. ☺

Thanks, Pammy Jo. 😊 Well, it could be worse. It could be 20 inches, and it could be 0 degrees! Hopefully we'll be able to dig ourselves out tomorrow.

Haha, yeah I felt a little silly talking about the plow for 10 inches of snow! 😂 But we have a big driveway and there are open fields to our north and west, so we get huge amounts of drifting. I'm the only one who is able to shovel, so it's not really practical. I tried once last year and it took 2 hours to do less than a third of it!

We have a long driveway, too. I know all about shoveling it. We used to do that until our neighbor got a plow for his truck.

LOL!!! Because it is Pearl Harbor Day today, I am being a loyal Yankee today. My U.S. flags are flying with black mourning ribbons and I am paying respect to my friends and relatives who fought in WWll. I will fly the flag all week, not just today. It was a somber week for my family...my great-uncle, James, was killed in Belgium on December 10, 1944. I was very close to his parents, my great-grandparents, so I felt as if I knew James. They talked about him all the time. My neighbor and dear friend was stationed at Pearl Harbor, enlisting in the Army months before the attack. He was extremely angry because the Japanese bombers blew up his trombone! He used quite colorful language when he discussed that day. He went on to locally command the PA State Police. Before he died, he gave me all of his WWII photos and his PA State Police memorabilia. I treasure all of it.

Well, then Rhode Island is okay. I'm a life long PA resident, but some of my ancestors moved South and fought for the Confederacy. One actually fired the first artillery shot to strike Fort Sumter, from Johnson's Island. He was a member of The Palmetto Guard. I have always been a Southerner at heart. Had I lived in the 1800's, I would have followed my family South and I would have been a loyal Confederate. 😁🤫

That's really interesting, Pammy Jo! I have ancestors in every American war. My great-great grandfather was in the Civil War (he was a Yankee 😋). My great uncle who just passed away a couple months ago at 99 was in WWII.

We are rapidly losing our WWll Vets.😢 In my opinion, they truly were "The Greatest Generation." I recently read that there are fewer than 325,000 surviving, of over 16 million Americans who served our nation during the war.
