Girls...seriously...I'm dying here!! Don't get me wrong, I've got some PNR/Fantasy books & series that I LOOOOVE. But I have to be in the right frame of mind, AND not have the bajillion other books I had planned all lined up and ready to go. Hahahaha!
I did find one, that I am NOWHERE near emotionally ready to face, that is the completion of a duology. It is going to rip out my heart and stomp all over it, I just know it. LOL! But I've got it downloaded and ready to go so I'll start it in the morning. 😁

Hehe, the fun spins of these challenges. You just never know what they are going to throw out at you. I'm just glad I had a book ready to go that I've been waiting forever from the library or I would be the one scrambling to try to find something that would work. Lol, that's how I feel about the Mercy book. I'm not sure if it's the end or not and I'm not truly ready to let her go.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy your book all that much, though, Leslie!

Sighs, I hope that wasn't the last book because I really need to more closure on Mercy and Adam. I think there is another book based on Goodreads so hopefully that's true. I really like this series and love to see what kind of mess Mercy finds herself in.

I've got a lot of GR friends who love this series.

I should have mine done tonight. It's going pretty quickly.
It's a really, really good series. I like the other series she writes but this one is so much better. You should give it a try if you haven't ready any of them but they go much better in order than skipping around.

I haven't read anything of hers at all so I might have to give it a shot. I can't bring myself to read a series out of order, even if they are all standalones (like the Modern Fairytale one we read for), so no worries there! I'd definitely be doing them in order. :)

I’ve been wanting to read Patricia Briggs, Kresley Cole, & also Jennifer Estep for quite some time now... & I never seem to get around to it.

Take your time! I knew I would speed through my book because I've been wanting to read it for awhile and I needed it finished by last night to use for baseball. This week, I'm stretching baseball out and not trying to finish by Wednesday because I have a difficult city. I've read a lot of Briggs but I don't think I've read that much of the other two.

Mine is a shortie, too, so I’m hoping it won’t take me too long! Is there a restriction on number of tags? For example, the book I’m reading only has 1 PNR tag, but it is on the main page. I assumed since it was on the main page, it’d be okay. (Even though I know it doesn’t state MPG, I just wanted to make sure only 1 tag was sufficient.)

I'm pretty sure as long as it is tagged, and it wasn't anyone on the team that did the tagging since the challenge started, you are good to go, especially if it shows up as an MPG!

And I take back what I said about finishing tonight. I *MIGHT*...but right now I'm at 40%, and while it's a really fast read, I'm losing my focus on it a bit. :(
If I wind up not finishing it tonight, I will definitely have it done tomorrow.

Okay, awesome! I thought I linked the book in my comment, but I guess I forgot. LOL. Here’s the book, though - Captivated by the Cougar.
We’ll see how this turns out.😂 I don’t think I’ve ever read a cougar shifter book before.

I do like shifter books & PNR every now & then (well, my favorite type of romance, if I had to pick a favorite)... but not gonna lie, this one does sound pretty cheesy. LOL. Damn it for working for a lot of my challenges.😂
You definitely need to read Patricia Briggs. It's a really good shifter series and I think you'll like it. Just gotta go in order though and read the Mercy Thompson series the other one isn't as good in my opinion. I mean it's good just not as good.

Or are there just a select few you enjoy? (I should know the answer to this by now. I’m sorry!)

If we get one of those tasks where we have to read a book a teammate recommends, I'll have to choose the first Mercy book!
If we get one of those tasks where we have to read a book a teammate recommends, I'll have to choose the first Mercy book!
I like some of the PNR and shifter series but I'm just getting into them. Last year was the year I decided to read more shifter books and I sped read through a few series. I've read almost all of Rebecca Zanetti and Patricia Briggs but I know there are some other authors that I want to read more of. I've read a lot of vampire books over the years and some of those I like and some of them are just okay. The first Mercy book could be a little slower but the series warmed up on me. The other series that I like is the Dark Protector series.
Here is Task 7:58. Read a minimum of 750 pages in books published in any one year prior to 2018, team picks the year.
For this task, use the initial publication date of your chosen books. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count!

Hey Frankie, I know we've talked about Beartown before but as I'm sitting over here looking at 2017 lists Beartown was written that year if you wanted to go ahead and knock that off your list. It's super super good. :)
Y'all should see all these 2017 books on my tbr. Apparently, I must have been on the mark to read kick that year. I'm trying to find one that's going to work in a couple different places.
Okay, so I'm going to need a couple days on this one but I'm going to go ahead and take Lord of Shadows off my tbr. It's a super long book but works for my baseball task right now and I used to read a lot of Cassandra Clare but haven't finished this series. I hope I can read a little bit each night and get it done by Friday/Saturday.

I. LOVE. THAT. BOOK! I will say it every time someone recommends it. LOL!
But it could also be used for one of the "teammate recommends" tasks. Looking at the check-in/Q&A thread there are a couple of those that are possible to come up.

No problem! I am finishing one up today and then I'll be able to start mine but it's a short one so it won't take me too long.

Oh yeah, she may want to hold on to it. I gave that book a 5 stars and it was just really good. Everyone should read it! I'm holding on to a couple of those Amy Harmon books for the recommend task.
I have Beartown on my TBR list too and I share Cyndee's love of angst...we need a recommend by a teammate task :)
Leslie wrote: "I have Beartown on my TBR list too and I share Cyndee's love of angst...we need a recommend by a teammate task :)"
I have some GREAT recommendations for you, Leslie! I swear if we get one of those tasks I'm going to have a separate list specialized to each of you. :D

My list sure has grown longer just doing this challenge. I'll take all the recommendations because that's how Amy Harmon happened and now I need to read more but I also need them to fit into my jigsaw puzzle of reading challenges that I have going on.

Or maybe I’m the mind reader. Mwahaha.

Yes, do that, Cyndee! I was gonna say yesterday that if we get that task, I kinda want each of you to give me a few different options at least. & I’d do the same for y’all. :]
Don't forget about the possibility of the falling in love for the first time task that may be locked in soon also. I'm going to have to pair that G book with the daisy task because I already have the 2017 book paired with baseball. I haven't looked any those individual challenges that I'm playing in a couple weeks so I just hope these books fit somewhere.
