Did I see it correctly, that MK wouldnt call new cats any more than every other day, so a new call for us would be Weds at the earliest?
Lisa wrote: "Did I see it correctly, that MK wouldnt call new cats any more than every other day, so a new call for us would be Weds at the earliest?"I think that's what I read, or at least how I understood it. Which is why I'm not worried about a 350page read!
Yes - I think she doesn't want to commit to turning around calls all day every day. So its just once every second day I think.

It seems that all I am reading late are books with children.
I liked this. A newly fostering dad is a month into fostering meets an in the closet ball player at a Family Camp.
They keep their distance until 1 night and then the world erupts as another parent takes pictures of them kissing.
I am glad that Travis took the way out he did. A nice book for a couple of hours reading.

Review: OOoof, this one was hard to read, but as have all the ones like that I've tackled this month - totally worth it.
I know Eli was worried about having parts of this be political, and maybe upsetting some readers...but I don't know how you can address the topic of school shootings without bringing in the politics, and she did a great job with it.
LOVED how emotional this was, how we see Brian work through the fear of returning to school. I ached for him. ADORED how, what I thought was going to be a GFY or - as Landon worried - a hero worship/transference attraction...was definitely NOT.
There were no easy fixes; not for Brian's PTSD or his interactions with family. Some things were neatly wrapped up, others were not...and I appreciated that there was no "awakening" or simple forgiveness. That the strained relationship he had with his parents after coming out wasn't just magically fixed at the end.
For most of the book I did think that (view spoiler) and while part of that turned out differently, I still felt like it didn't make sense. Like, really? "Civil War?" But, then again, school shootings don't make sense. Even when you think you "understand" (which is NOT the same as to condone, encourage or accept) why it happens, it's never that simple. (Also #Points! for originality with who the ring-leader turned out to be; didn't see that one coming AT ALL.)

Review not required, however I will say this is no better than when I read it the first time. I'm downgrading the rating to 3 stars which is more reflective of my latest reading but also my memory of my initial enjoyement. Clearly 'dare' books aren't my cup of tea.

As we have a day before the next task, should we make some decisions on tasks where we need a consensus, eg genre or RRRC year.That way we can start reading and not have to wait for teammies who may be asleep (me, lol)
Shannon wrote: "I don't think we need reviews here do we?"No - not needed from my understanding :)
I'll post that we are done for this task :D

Or me!
I had tentatively suggested the following in this post:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
* sub-genre : Contemporary. Open to other options though :)
* list : preference? I like Michaelle's suggestion of the MM Member Award Winners since they also have 2nd and 3rd place winners for years 2011-2019.
* profession - Law Enforcement Officer
* trope?
Team recommendation - list the shelf we prefer for team recs. There will be a min book requirement on these shelves so we should probably go for more than 50 books? or 100 books?
Jane: picking shelf I'll need to add to this :)
Other team - I have no preference form Teams 9, 7, 11 or 13
Location: (State in the US or Country outside the US - likely)
* New York, California, England, Texas
* Country - UK? Australia
* Home town - London or Connecticut, Las Vegas, Washington State (forget about my state). I think London is the pick here.
Dates:
* Same month and year - March 2019? October 2018? Please see what you would prefer.
* Year prior to 2018: suggest 2017
* Decade of our year of birth (all have to read the same decade): J, L & M - 1960s. S - 70s. Not the best set of options.
* Year joined RRRC: I joined in 2010 so hopefully some of you are later!! Michaelle is 2018 (Yay!); Lisa - 2014; Shannon - 2014.
* Title letter - C?
* Cover item - bare chest? Gun? Tree?
My picking shelf will be aa recommendContemporary as a sub-genre would be easy.
Michaelle's list idea is fine with me.
Love Law Enforcement
California would probably be easiest.
UK would have the most choices.
London for sure.
I vote for 3/19 for same month and year
Prior to 2018 - I vote 2017
Probably 70s will be less painful but who knows
I say use Michaelle's 2018 for the join RRRC
Title Letter "C" is fine with me.
Cover: Chest is already a category so maybe with a Hand showing?
What about this one? Is there any series everyone enjoys?
Read 4 books in a continuing series?
Yay - you finished Task 1! Here is Task 2:63. Read over 1000 pages in books that start with the same letter (no articles), teams decide letter.
Remember not to use articles - a, an, the, as the first word, therefore letter, in the title.
ETA: Please attempt to link to the correct Kindle edition as that is what I will be using for the page count - thanks!
ETA - Again: I enjoyed your reviews and now wish I had thought to include them!
Task 2Selection post
257 pages
How it qualifies: title begins with a C.
I wont start until we are sure we are over 1000 pages.
Lisa, your posts confuse me! 🤔 Going with C, book starts with L... 🤷🏻♀️I'm just going to go back to what I was doing and see how this plays out. 😊

Wow, I posted about Shannon and didnt see she had already posted her choice in the post above. Home confimement must be getting to me.
I'll try to get mine read today but our house is going on the market and the photographer is coming for pics and a video today so the house has to look not lived in.....not sure how to do that when we can't even go anywhere. lol
Shannon wrote: "I'll try to get mine read today but our house is going on the market and the photographer is coming for pics and a video today so the house has to look not lived in.....not sure how to do that when..."🤣 That's pretty funny. Good luck!
You know what really sucks? Having them make a freaking video. So basically I couldn't hide the crap from one room in another while the photo was being taken. All the crap had to be hidden. I have no idea where anything is! My hubby asked me where the dish soap was and we finally found it in the hall closet? WTH? Toothbrush? *shrugs*

Mum has lost a bit of her short-term memory and the stress of the sale just made it worse... Dad isn't much better.
Yesterday they finalised their unit purchase and today ALL their furniture is being delivered. My sister seriously doesn't think it will fit. Be interesting to hear how it ends up ;)
(I can't visit since they are 7 hours away and we have a travel ban at the moment - obviously.)

An ok book. Written about a hunt sab and then he happens to fall in love with an ex hunt sab. Although there was no graphic descriptions of hounds actually getting foxes, it was heavy on the sabbing and I thought, not so much on the relationship between the two men.
