Pick for Me Challenge!!!

Lurkers...first time newbies...anyone, feel free to join! Especially right now when we're all feeling the strain of too much time stuck at home under the COVID-19 quarantine.

This challenge has endured the test of time in our group because it is definitely the most fun! Feel free to participate each month, or when your schedule allows. We're not picky, we love seeing you when you can!

The How-to
1. Create a new shelf, or update an existing shelf on your Goodreads profile, that includes approximately 20 books that you would like to have someone else use to pick a book for you to read. Label it "Pick For Me." Only books from this designated shelf will be selected for this challenge, (no matter how badly some of us want to pick something else...hint hint, pick-happy moppets...*giggle*)!

2. Post in this thread that you want to participate this month. If you don't post here, I won't necessarily remember that you want in.

3. Provide the link to your Pick For Me shelf, (this will make it a bit easier for all parties involved... unless you all really *want* to read A Court of Thorns and Roses. *a new month, a new pick from me!*) This is really important, especially this month. I want to make sure that the link to everyone's shelves hasn't changed...I had a bit of a snafu with my links, so humor me please :) If you're having difficulty finding the link to your shelf, please let me know.

4. On April 1st, *cough, cough* someone...the hand of fate, maybe, *cough, cough* will use the randomizer to pair up everyone. (Or worst case scenario, I really will just do the old making of a list on a piece of paper and draw lines between everyone, and you *know* what that means, *shifty eyes* see above for my pick for the month, LOL!)

5. Friend your partner who is picking for you or set your profile to public or your partner will not be able to access your shelf.

6. Post your selection for your partner in this thread.

7. Come back after finishing the book selected for you by your partner (even if it's after the month has ended) and let everybody know what you think about it, or at least that you've finished...or DNF'd it (another book off your list is always a win in our book!)

**The sign up period will remain open until pairs are posted on April 1st and you'll have until April 4th to select a book for your partner or one of these other scavengers will swoop in and do it for you.**

Leslie | 2430 comments Oh Jean, this is easy!

Dirty Letters Dirty Letters by Vi Keeland

I loved this one and feel like it's perfect. It has enough emotion so that it isn't fluff but not too much to send you into the ugly cry.

Layne | 146 comments Diann, your list is FILLED with so many incredible books! Looking through it, I thought about the type of book I’d want to read right now given this particular climate in the world and hands down, I’d want Moti on the Water by Leylah Attar It’s just an incredibly witty, fun book to read & I think it’s the perfect escape! Enjoy!

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Jen, I kept going back and forth between three from your list. I finally settled on Becoming Calder by Mia Sheridan

FYI - the other two were Pure Abandon and Disgrace...so you see why the decision was so hard!!!

Thank you Catia!! I have had this on my list since it came out. I always seem to put something else ahead of it, so this is the perfect opportunity to dig in. This cover is so beautiful.

Diann, I’m glad you picked this one. With everything I was trying to accomplish yesterday, I forgot to update my list and I had books on there that I was either already reading or have already read. I know most of us are home right now, but I feel more scattered now than before. 😂

Lisa!! I’m so happy to pick for you. I’m going with All the Ugly and Wonderful Things, because of the AMAZING writing. The story can be hard at times, but push through. I’ve also recently read The Reckless Oath We Made and it was an equally fantastic read. Currently, I have her book The Will on my Kindle.
