The Golden Son by Shilpi Somaya Gowda

This book is set in Texas and India. I checked through the chapters and more than 50% take place in India as the main character travels between the two settings throughout the novel. There is a parallel story that features his childhood friend Leena. She lives in India as does the main character's family. More than 50% of the book features their respective stories and interactions with Anil.
