Just completed my "C" selection - The Secret Wisdom of the Earth by Christopher Scotton. I loved this story! It was unexpected and beautiful as it slowly unfurled from a simple story about a boy visiting his grandfather in Kentucky to an examination of grief, evil, loss, and the impacts of impulsive decisions. My only criticism was that the end was rather muddled, the last chapter skipped around in time quite a bit so it was confusing. I read the ARC, so hopefully that was fixed in the final edition. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars17/26

Update A Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire SáenzThis dragged on a little but overall it was an enjoyable read. It is kind of depressing but it opens your eyes and makes you think about matters you wouldn't normally think about. It reminded me a lot of the recent movie boyhood which also covers issues of growing up.
