I'll make a note, thank you. I suspect first in series will be fairly easy to find though.

Rachel (stillchasethewind) | 452 comments I can try to squeeze in the first Nancy Drew book as well. I own it. Its my birthday Sunday so I'm not sure how much reading time I will be getting in this weekend.

I put China Rich Girlfriend for limes, there are lime trees on pg 94. :) Sorry Nancy is so awful. I LOVED the early books when I was a kid, but I can't see them holding up into the hundreds. :D

Oh awesome! Glad it worked for something. Sorry I missed the lime. I remember loving the books too, but who knows who actually wrote this, there were so many ghost writers for both Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys.

Alissa | 351 comments I don't think I'm airtight. It's Nicole on the spreadsheet.

Alissa | 351 comments I can take the Wild Card in hand 7 using The Van Apfel Girls Are Gone duplicating the 3.

There is a character Hannah. Do we get extra points for the same character name? Lol

They can be started anytime after February 1st as long as they are finished after the March 1 deadline here.

ETA - Could you please add Nancy Drew to your UNO shelf when you get a chance! Thanks.

Allison Ann | 1245 comments Thank you everyone for reading above and beyond what you claimed. We are so close to finishing. :D If anyone wants to slow down on their reading, to finish books in March or just take a break, that will be fine. We only have one unclaimed card right now (anyone reading a #3 in series?), but if anyone finds starfruit or passionfruit I am happy to give up a spot. I'm reading both books now, but probably won't post them until the end of the month. I worked hard to find them, no point making it easy for another team. ;) Paula should be back from vacation this weekend and after she has a look at our recipe, I'll submit that for some more points. Thanks again for being such an awesome team. We are going to end February very strong!

Hello I'm back!

I like the recipe, I'm just not familiar with some of the abreviatons like "c." and "t."
And I'm assuming the 375 degrees are °F(?), we work on °Celsius here =P

message 384: by Paula (new)

Paula Reyes Wagner (paurw) | 784 comments I'm sorry about my abscence, I didn't expect for my mobile internet to work so badly, I went to the Araucanía area in Chile (lots of forests and volcanos) and I had cero-signal most of the time, now I'm back at work so I'm procastinating and catching up with the challenge.

If you have the chance of visiting Chile, that region is really beautiful in the summer, I visited the Conguillio National Park look for it in google =)

I think I'll save my books for march, as we already finished our regular cards, congratulations everyone for reading more than you pledged for!

Welcome back Paula. Hope you enjoyed your vacation. I used North American terms because I bake in North American terms. :D We don't often use weights here. c = cup, approximately 250 mg and t = teaspoon, which I think is about 15 mg. 375 F is about 190 C. And I used American flags because they were the first to walk on the moon.

Isn't it funny in 2020 there are still so many places where technology is useless? :D Being as I live in one of those places I'm used to it, but the people who visit here get so stressed because they can't stream a movie while sitting outside on my beautiful beach. It's kind of sad.

I'm ok with using your way of measuring things, I just think that it should be clear to everyone, maybe add an F to the 375 degrees?

I thought that the USA flags were a great idea and with the space garbage would turn out super fun.

I agree, we didn't think it would be that difficult to get online, but it was very convenient, because disconnect from work completely and we enjoyed our time in nature.

message 389: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1245 comments So, my wonderful teammates. Now that we are basically done with our month, I just wanted to touch base with everyone and make sure you are having fun with this challenge. I've submitted our recipe and I'll let you know if/when it is accepted.

Because we finished early, it's easy to lose the momentum we've built to this point. You can take a break from reading completely, or you can read some short books that don't count for UNO or you can start reading some books that won't be finished until March. Our March cards should be posted in the next couple of days, but we'll be reading the same numbers and letters - Z, O, T, H, F, I, S, V, E, N, K/P. Hopefully we will have some better draws, more chances at points. :D But what will be, will be.

Could everyone please take a moment to check their UNO shelves and make sure every book you finished is marked there. Thank you. And thank you for being the least stressful team ever. Not a drama queen in the bunch and it's so wonderful I can't even tell you. :D I skim through other teams, it's rough out there guys. :D

Paula Reyes Wagner (paurw) | 784 comments I'm still reading Caraval, and I'll save it for march, at least the last chapter, and maybe I'll start another book.

I'm going back to my usual rate of reading now, during vacation I practically read nothing

message 396: by Paula (new)

You'll probably finish quicker than I can. I also got to thinking and feel my book would work better for uno cards, so I want to wait and use it in March.

This is what I like about no service - you are free to disconnect completely.
