Alissa | 351 comments Yay team! Sounds like everything is covered.

I have a fairly busy week and likely won't finish anything before the weekend so I'm saving for March at this point.

Paula Reyes Wagner (paurw) | 784 comments I can read for one of the yellow cards, I'll be reading The Rules of Magic (Practical Magic, #0) by Alice Hoffman
I think it works for 1 yellow and 2 yellow (not sure if 6 yellow too)

Also I can take care of the 0 red card with The Leavers by Lisa Ko

Caraval, wich I'm saving for march will work for a reverse

I'm terrible at not finishing. :)

Denise Lauron (dlauron) | 271 comments I have several books with a chapter or two left in them. Not a big deal, since I am a polygamist reader anyhow. Just waiting until Sunday to finish. It might be Monday, because I'm seeing a play and I have a bookclub.

Nicole | 241 comments I'm currently re-reading The Nightingale which could work for 5 blue. Plan on reading All the Stars and Teeth after that

Thanks Nicole. I've put you for 5 Blue, and if All the Stars and Teeth (All the Stars and Teeth, #1) by Adalyn Grace works for a 5 or 6, we can use it for a Wild Draw 4.

We did finish a bit too early this month, hard to keep the enthusiasm going with this break, but I'm sure we'll all be back to fighting form next week. :)

Allison Ann | 1245 comments Just a bit more than 29 hours until we can start finishing books for March. Just one more book from Paula to finish this month and we'll have earned every single point available to us. Bravo team!

Countdown

Paula Reyes Wagner (paurw) | 784 comments Hello, I finished my book and updated the ss =)

message 429: by Rayne (new)

Rayne (raynebair) | 201 comments I guess I'll wait and finish my book tomorrow so it can count for March instead of trying to rush through it. I've got a fairly busy schedule today so it works out.

message 430: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1245 comments Thanks Brooklyn. Enjoy your day!

Paula wrote: "Hello, I finished my book and updated the ss =)"

Thanks Paula and with that we are officially done with February and ready to start March in approximately 18 hours. :D We ended up with 2705 points, which currently has us in 7th place. I was hoping we'd stay in the Top 5, but there are usually some teams that don't update their points until the end of the month and a couple of them overtook us. But Top 10 isn't too bad. As usual, it's the luck of the draw with UNO. But we got every point available and we're an awesome team! So thanks very much. I have 6 books on the go for March, 5 of which I am dying to finish, one of which is a crappy knock-off of a series I didn't like to begin with, so that might take more of the month. :D

I am baking quickbreads this morning, and then meeting a bunch of people for coffee so they can eat those quickbreads. :D Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday.

I'll scour my piles for yellow books tonight and see if I have anything that fits.

To be honest I am not sure why I requested it. Probably because of Becky Albertalli though. At least it works!

I am hoping to read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline this month too. It is a favorite of mine.

message 436: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1245 comments I loved Ready Player One too. Such a good book.

Paula has a Yellow cover that works for all three options. And I have a Yellow cover that works for all three options that I am almost done. I have another one that only works for 2 Yellow so far, but I'm not desperate to read it if someone else finds a yellow cover. And then we have three WD4 to cover and that's it for colours. :D Just over 4 hours to wait.

I enjoyed it too! The movie was ok, but I had to go in with the thought that it wasn't the same story.

The movie was disappointing for me. All the really awesome things about the book were changed or omitted. So I pretend that the movie doesn't exist. Oh well. I like to read it again every few years. This will be my first time reading it since the movie came out.

I also love the book World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks. That movie was also horrible. I met him at a convention a few years ago and he said that lost all control of his work when its rights were purchased by Plan B studios. He wrote in my book to pretend the movie doesn't exist. That's what he does lol.

I absolutely loved the book. One of my favorites. The movie not so much. It really is a disappointment when they change the book so much for the movie.

I finished my first book, Hellion and updated the SS.
Starting on my blue card book now.

Allison Ann | 1245 comments Morning team! 7 1/2 hours in to the month and we already have completed books. Great job. I'm going to do a quick update of my own, and then I'm hitting the road to do some fun things for a couple of hours.

I did not see the movie of Ready Player One because I was pretty certain I would hate it. As far as I can tell, the only people who liked it were those who didn't even know there was a book and had nothing to miss. :D

Adding The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren The Summerhouse (The Summerhouse #1) by Jude Deveraux and Obsession (Alex Delaware, #21) by Jonathan Kellerman to the spreadsheet.

Have a good Sunday all!

message 444: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 351 comments Completed two so far:
From Garden To Grave (The Leafy Hollow Mysteries, #1) by Rickie Blair
The Wives by Tarryn Fisher

I have a yellow S on the go because last I looked we didn't have any but it can be a WD4 or wherever else it end up fitting.
Murder in the Art Gallery (Pet Portraits Mystery, #1) by Sandi Scott

I listened to the audio book of Ready Player One and loved it. Multiple people told me not to watch the movie if I liked the book so much - so I haven't seen it

Thanks Alissa. I tend on the cautious side and to me that book doesn't look over 50% yellow, so we'll take a team vote please. If it's yellow, I'll move Paula's book to 2 Yellow, if it's not yellow it still works as a book. Sound fair?
