This book was unique in writing style. Old fables usually passed down verbally, and this is evident in the writing style, had me wishing I had acquired an audiobook version. My recommendation if you don't like it at the start, don't keep Reading it, however if the mythology and old prose appeals to you this is a must read.

Of course you can still join Whitney. I've added you.

This is a really interesting book! Part sci-fi, part character study, part mystery, it tells the story of a Christian preacher sent to another planet to minister to the indigenous population, and how life on this planet affects him and the other humans there, as well as his impact on the indigenous people.

When you type a comment, click the "(some html is ok)" link at the top right-hand corner of the comment box. There is a line there that shows how to make a link. Copy that text and replace the url with the link to your Listopia list and replace the "my link text" with the name you would like to display as the name of the list.
Does that make sense? :)

**** (4.5) This would be a solid 5 if fleshed out a bit more. As it is, it's an absolutely astonishing bit of utopia-gone-wrong, especially for its time and the fact that the author isn't known for science fiction. By the end, my mouth was hanging open. Honestly, this wowed me more than much of Wells and Verne, as sacrilegious as that may sound. I highly recommend it!
