Don't forget to remember! Having said that, you're probably remembering it all wrong anyway. Neuroscientist Lisa Genova has got it all covered in Remember: The Science of Memory and the Art of Forgetting, which explains a lot about why we argue about memories and worry about dementia.
Interesting, easy read and excellent resource.

Aussie journalist and author Tim Ayliffe's John Bailey is the war-weary journo who discovers what working for The Greater Good really means. Dirty politicians, spies, criminals. Contemporary Sydney. Love it!

I was so looking forward to reading something by this author - my mistake - 2 stars.
Under the Whispering Doorhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Catch by Mick Herron
This is a novella featuring John Bachelor. While set in the same milieu as Herron's Slough House series, this story runs independently of it and can be read as a standalone.

Under the Whispering Door..."Oh, that's disappointing, Esther. Sorry it didn't work for you. I really enjoyed that one.
Just finished Pilgrim at Tinker Creek
and even though it's a 4 star on Goodreads and it was highly recommended on a podcast I listen to, I really didn't enjoy it. Anyone else read this book? It's feels a bit odd when your in the minority of not liking a book.
I'm currently reading Tuesdays with Morrie
this is for part of the October challenge to read a book with a teacher/professor in it. I am also reading Meet me at the Museum
for the October challenge as the Author was 70 years old when she wrote the book.
Nobody Walks by Mick Herron - a father who is a retired MI5 operative goes on a revenge hunt for his son's killer

What is it about kids and bottoms?! A Brief History of Underpants by Christine Van Zandt uses plays on words ("brief" history) and cartoons by Harry Briggs to tell interesting "back" stories from ancient times to the space age.

I do like a short story. Alexander McCall Smith has written a collection of stories inspired by early 20th-century photos, including the title story Pianos and Flowers: Brief Encounters of the Romantic Kind. I especially loved Blackmail!

Tim Winton is one of Australia's best and most-awarded authors and an all-time favourite of mine. An Open Swimmer was his first novel, written when he was still at uni, and his writing was already magic. I had some trouble with the story.

Stephen King is known for his horror thrillers, but this is just a good story about a ghost, stranded in the Horror House of the amusement park, Joyland. It's just what I felt like reading!

I can now post my review of Day of the Wolf: A Steamy, Action-Packed Wolf Shifter Romance
by Terry Spear. The author meshes paranormal romance and supernatural suspense in a sultry, steamy, and action packed novella in the Heart of the Wolf series set in and around Silver Town, Colorado. My 4 star review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Atlas of a Changing Climate: Our Evolving Planet Visualized with More Than 100 Maps, Charts, and Infographics by Brian Buma
- a different perspective on climate change from a professor of Integrative Biology.

I can now post my review of The Chase
by Lisa Harris. The author brings plenty of action and suspense to this Christian crime thriller that’s set in and around Seattle, Washington. Overall, this was an edge-of-seat chase that kept me full engaged and was riveting, intriguing, and thrilling, and has the hint of a future romance.

I recently reviewed the Andy Warhol book from this series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and he always makes me think of Marilyn Monroe, whose rise from lonely little girl to fabulous movie star is captured here (sadly no Warhol pictures).
5★ Link to my review of Marilyn Monroe with several illustrations.
The Incredible Winston Browne by Sean Dietrich is a warm, poignant heartstring-tugger about small town America in the 1950s. Readers will eat it up, I bet.

I can now post my review of Murder at Greysbridge
by Andrea Carter. It's a well-written and entertaining cozy mystery. The author did a great job of giving me sense of place and transported me to the remote locale in Ireland. My 4 star review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

What a fantastic cover and what an odd book. The 1800s were full of fortune-hunters, in all senses of the word, all over the world. Fortune by Aussie author Lenny Bartulin is wild historical fiction.

Finally! I have met Sebastian St. Cyr! His first adventure, in What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris, is an atmospheric murder mystery in 19th century England.
4.5★ Link to my review of What Angels Fear
I finished The Starless Crown
by James Rollins. This is a change for Rollins although he did write fantasy early in his career. It's an epic fantasy. hat brings excitement, danger, and suspense to an adventurous journey that includes some unusual allies and some common enemies. With this first book in the Moon Fall series, he introduces the four main characters and does a fantastic job of building a world that is unique.

my Best in Snow review
I'm currently reading Candy Coated Murder. It's a short book and I'm hoping it will feel a little festive. I'm also about to start Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man for my RL book club.
