I have never read A Christmas Carol before. How does it compare to tv shows or movies?

Read the original, Tammy. It's available for free everywhere and stands alone as a great read. A GR friend recommends Jim Dale's narration of the audio.

PattyMacDotComma This may help people approach challenging holiday conversations.

The graphic publication The Pronoun Book, by Cassandra Jules Corrigan tries to explain how people choose to identify themselves and how we should refer to them and each other.

Bi, non-binary, trans, other gender issues are here. It's certainly a tricky business, and this is one place to start to understand it.

PamG (lynguy1) | 1024 comments I can now post my review of The Appeal The Appeal by Janice Hallett by Janice Hallett. This is a debut novel and its epistolary format may tempt amateur sleuths to work alongside the two junior lawyers tasked with sorting through emails, texts, newspaper clippings, social media activity, messages, letters, and police reports which make up the narrative of the book to answer the senior partner’s questions which change over time.

PattyMacDotComma I just finished The Enemy Within, the enemy being radicalised suburban Muslim youths, local right-wing extremists, and bent Aussie cops. TTake your pick! Journalist Tim Ayliffe knows his stuff. This is January 2020 JUST before Covid hit.

PattyMacDotComma I didn't know Iris Apfel's story at all, but Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara has told it well in the Little People BIG DREAMS series. From childhood, Apfel marched to her own drum, became a fashion icon, and encouraged children everywhere to follow their passions.
