I can’t believe it’s here already, either. I would really love to know what really makes the time go fast. Does anyone have plans on what to do during the summer despite the hurdles Covid-19 brings?

Does anyone have plans on what to do during the summer despite the hurdles Covid-19 brings?"I found a post on Instagram today about "June Reading Challenge" and thought to myself "ah, this must be an old post", only to realize it's already June even though I feel like it was February just yesterday! I'm hoping by summer I will be able to work again in the hospitality industry as Covid-19 goes away and, at the same time, I can be as efficient in reading as I am being during quarantine!
Good for you, Monica. The world needs all the help it can get. I'm trying to do my part. But get ready for the long haul. Covid-19 isn't going away anytime soon.I hope all of you are doing well. I get to see the International Space Station sail by in the night sky, and it's so much fun, especially knowing there are two new astronauts on board. I'm going to make sure my garden doesn't die this year. I killed last year's shrubs...
My French lessons are doing great. For years I've waited until I could speak it so I could translate the French phrase in Lady Marmalade myself. Now I know what it means--naughty, naughty--LOL!
BE SAFE, EVERYONE!!!!!

I’ve just received a copy of Small Island by Andrea Levy. It’s currently sat in a big pile of books that I’m working my way through but I’ve just seen that the play is being live streamed on The National Theatre website in a couple of weeks. Do I try and read first and then watch or vice verse?
Needed to read a challenge book and read The Birds of Aristophanes, Written as a play. Play was produced in 414 B.C. Aristophanes
@Leona did you like it? was it hard to read a language that's so far removed from today's? I find it so hard sometimes. makes me feel unsettled

I gave it a 4 star but I was confused at the beginning. It is on my Kindle so I will re-read. One thing I like about the Kindle is the fact I can get the definitions on many names and places.
I finally seem to be out of my reading slump, but don't have much reading time! I'm still making more progress than I was the past few months though. I'm loving that we have some nice weather here too. It's supposed to rain next week, but it is gorgeous for this weekend.
even Scribd gives me meanings of words that stump me. I'm doing 2 parallel reading challenges and I'm totally spinning around to meet my basic challenges.
I’m sorry you sprained your ankle. That must be quite un-fun. BTW, what are your favorite genres of music? Do you enjoy instrumental music, especially soundtrack music? And what are your favorite things to do in your spare time besides reading?
I fractured my ankle 😵😵😵. Ben laid up since April 30,had to surgeries but now I’m halfway through the 3 month recovery period( which started after the last surgery May 21) I’ve learned to love reading again ♥️
Please accept a get-well from a total stranger and her wish that you will recover soon - and in the meantime, have fun being in the world of literary worlds!

I hope you heal soon. I'm glad you've at least reignited your love for reading.
I hope the both of you heal soon, too. I decided to get back to one of my favorite hobbies--reading. I just finished "Flowers In The Attic" by V.C. Andrews. It's 389 pages, and I finished it in a week. What a powerful story. I highly recommend it. It's still pulling at me. Next the sequel, "Petals In The Wind".
Hope everyone is doing okay:)

Judy, speedy recovery.
Yesterday was my grandson's last day of school! Yay! We are officially on summer break. :) Of course, we are expecting rain all week here and I don't want to bring him into any public places, so the first week will be lounging around the house not doing much. But, we are both so happy to be done with his school program for the summer.

You MUST use it when the doctor says so and it will hurt like H E double toothpicks as my husband used to say. I did rug hooking. Take care.
Thanks everyone!!! Yes it does complicate things🤬!!! But I did find For the first time Goodreads and this group!!! So that’s a plus and I’m seeing a light at the end of the tunnel 🌤

If you could recommend me a book, what would it be?"We have a thread for book recommendations you may want to check out here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... People have recently added to it. Also, if you tell people there what types of books you enjoy that might help them to give you a better recommendation.
Happy Father's Day to any dads in our group! I hope you all have a nice day. :) We are just relaxing at home here.
I once had a sprang ankle. I feel for all who have the same plus the fractured ankle. I hope you all heal soon. Meanwhile I hope you have good books to read.
Aww thanks Kristie and Aurora I would recommend a book called Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott and Judy that stinks that you fractured your ankle and Tammy I’m reading a lot of good books
Hey, guys! Sorry for not chatting in a while. How’s things going? As of now, I am currently reading for the first time Hannah Green’s I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. So far it is very intriguing and at times chilling. It brought up remembrances of the movie A Beautiful Mind, since the heroine’s mental illness is the same as John Nash’s. I anticipate seeing how it’ll all turn out.I’m also still researching for my Viking story. Yesterday, I read some stuff on Wikipedia about hares and polecats since those animals live in the land my tale’s set in: Denmark.
I hope everyone’s doing okay here. 😊
im currently reading and almost finished "just my luck"by adele parks....i must say this book is great. about winning the lottery and how bad things go wrong for one family
Still on If I Stay. So far it is compelling.Say, are any of you going to watch Hamilton when it comes live on Disney+? Lord willing, I am going to watch it with my Uncle Kevin on the day it comes online. SO EXCITED!! He and I are BIG fans of Hamilton. After having seen the trailer, I just am itching all over to see it - it’ll be the closest thing to see it in person. 😆

Happy July, Christine! I feel like we have a fresh start this month. Let's hope for no surprises. No murder hornets, aliens, etc...
I can't believe the 4th is practically here!! Happy July, Christine!!
Where did you see murder hornets and aliens, Kristie?
