Hoping everyone had an awesome holiday, whatever that may be. I worked; despite the sensory overload at the in laws' house, it was good. There seems to be a growing number of kids, year after year, so that is overwhelming.Hoping you all got some good books too!

This is such a coincidence!"
Happy Birthday to you.
For the new year I decided to make changes and get control of my finances by doing a budget. One of my biggest expenses is books (and audiobooks). I allowed myself $80 a month and I’ve ALREADY gone over!! I don’t drink or smoke, so I guess I’m allowed this one vice 🤣

But I feel the same way...I do not drink, smoke gamble or party, so going to concerts, CDs and books are my vices!
I keep forgetting that goodreads doesn't send you notifications anymore, and that you have to check in. Even that little bell at the top of the page doesn't work anymore. Anywhooo, the new year is really starting off bad starting with those poor people run down by a domestic terrorist, and now the Los Angeles fire.My thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims. My daughter and I sold our old car, and 95% of the proceeds went to help the people in Florida because of the devastation left by the hurricane. Now the people in California need our help.
My hope is for everyone to have the best 2025 as possible. And to be there to help one another.
Has anyone checked out the other challenges that are on the same page as the x number of books for the year one? I am having way too much fun with these! I now have knocked out the one for epic reads and buzzy books. Now, I am reading one for the era explorer challenge.
Happy February, Christine! January always feels like the longest month ever. This January was a particularly rough month for us, but things are looking up. I'm looking forward to spring.
I actually completely forgot it is Groundhog Day amidst the chaos around here lately. First time ever. Anyone know the supposed results? I don't know how they even say whether he did or didn't see his shadow anymore the way they handle it. They turned into a one animal circus show. Poor little guy.

March is here and is still winter; we are in for a winter storm warning for 4"7" of snow. I am in Minnesota.

Oh no. I am done with snow and hope we don't get any more this year. We moved further south because we were tired of the amount of snow we got in the north. It is about 60℉ here today, but a little breezy so I needed long sleeves. lol Definitely not snow weather. Stay warm and dry ladies.

I live next to a lake and there is a lot of water on the ice. Southern Minnesota has a blizzard warning.
I got only an inch of snow the other day but Minneapolis/ St. Paul got about 10" and my daughter said today, she still has lots of snow in her yard. They are about an hour south of me. Ice still on the lake and I saw people ice fishing on it today. I am reading The Care and Management of Lies
by Jacqueline Winspear for my library book club read.
