I'm wrapped up in layers from head to toe here at home. So that means winter is officially here. It's Nov. 1--wow. Just 8 weeks from now, it'll be 2024. But let's get through these next two months--right? LOL!!!Congratulations on getting a new cousin, Christine. I bet she's beautiful!
Don't forget to turn your clocks back this Sunday, everyone.
Right??!!! I'm thinking there's a few more days left in Nov. Then I look at the calendar and it's Dec. 1 already!
Crazy how fast November went by. I think I only read two books in November, which is not my usual. The end of the month just appeared out of nowhere. lol Now we're all into Christmas preparations here. I'm hoping to get my cards out and all my gifts wrapped and sent in the next two weeks. I felt like I had soo much time, but then... November. *poof*
I'm also trying to wrap up my yearly book challenges. Anyone else have challenges that they still need to read for before the end of the year? I think I have 5 books to get through.
I know everyone will be busy until the end of the year. So to Kristie and everyone here, have a safe rest of the year.
It has been in the 30s and 40s in Minnesota. I live on a lake and after getting ice on it, now it has lots of water on top. My daughter and her family go up North to snowmobile after Christmas and they do not have much snow either. I do not mind as driving is much easier.
We had a little winter with much snow in the first week of December in Hungary and it was lovely, but it is all gone now with milder weather which is here to stay over Christmas.

We've only had one day recently where we woke up to a light dusting of snow. It was so pretty and just the right amount. All the grassy areas, trees, etc were white, but the roads were clear. It was perfect.
If you'd care to share your Top 5 or Top 10 Books for 2023 (at the end of the year), you are very welcome to do it under this thread: 😊https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Yes! Best part about winter solstice is that now the days start to slowly get a little bit longer each day instead of being so dark. More sunlight is on the way for us! :)

Always fun to watch.
A while back, someone here gave me some good advice about my baby blankets I love to crochet. I'm sorry I forgot who it was. I looked back over the old threads but couldn't find your name. I was wondering how to put the blankets to good use since I don't sell them, just give them away as gifts. And you advised me to give them to any organization that helps young mothers.
I just want to say thank-you to this person. I sent some of the blankets to such an organization. They loved them and have already given them out. They're saving some for an upcoming shower. There are other charities I plan on sending them to.
So--Thank-you for that good tip. My blankets are finding good homes:)
That's wonderful, Groovy! I'm so happy you did that. I volunteer with a friend for an organization called Project Linus and we make, collect, finish off, and distribute blankets to a variety of places. People are always so grateful to receive them. We recently had some really nice crocheted baby blankets donated.
