Good point--I have become so used to putting all 4 digits of the year (before this century) I forgot.
Shortly after I graduated from university I had a job where we filed things by year/month/day. Since it's easy to get mixed up in Canada for days and months where both numbers are 12 or lower, I started dating everything that way. No palidromes at all
Twosday was just 2022/02/22 that way.
This made it easier to put month and day in our chequebook the way my American husband does it (I'm a dual citizen now.)
That would make it more clear for organizing, Karin. I saw a news report of a couple whose baby was born at 2:22 am on 2/22/22. I feel like that's going to be a lucky baby. lol

That is so cool!
Are you a numbers person as well? I don't attach significance, but find number patterns, etc, interesting. For example, I noticed that between my husband, one of my kids and my mother we had at least 3 family members with years that are multiples of 19 (20th century) I did a bit of figuring and added a cousin, so I asked my mother for any more and she know someone from 1919. Not sure about 1900, but it's possible since some came from large families, etc.
Weird? Perhaps, but harmless.
It's one of the many reasons I loved the book The Housekeeper and the Professor
Oh, that's interesting , Karin. I think things like that can be fun sometimes. :) I'll have to check out The Housekeeper and the Professor. I've heard of it, but don't really know what it's about.

It's a poignant novel about a mathematician who was in an accident some years prior to the start of the book. He can only remember things that have happened after it up to 90 minutes. He loves baseball. It is about him and a new housekeeper who has a son. He still has an amazing ability with numbers.
I can't tell you exactly why I really liked this novel anymore, but none of her others appeal to me story-wise. She writes well.
Okay going to try to post some pics for the first time! Since we were talking about puppies and kitties over on the Wacky Holidays thread I thought I would share my new puppy and one of our kitties here. Our puppy is named Olive and the kitty is named Otis.
I had to laugh at my husband yesterday. I was asking him how old our animals are. We have so many that sometimes I need to make sure I'm right. He, on the other hand, sounds like a proud daddy. Our 1 year old puppy is "15 months". So...we're doing the months thing? lol

I'm really good at remembering certain dates, but not all. Ages seems to be a different matter lately. Someone asked me how long my husband and I had been together recently and I just looked at him and said ummm... He knew. Of course, he did. lol I'm fortunate that my lack of remembering does not seem to bother him.
Hey guys.. English is not my first language and I'm having trouble understanding books please give me some tips I read books in my phone.
Uggh, I wish they would just STOP with changing the time and leave it set. Spring forward or Fall back, I don't care...just pick one and stick to it!
I agree, Jojo. There's really no reason to change it back anymore. They should just keep us in daylight savings time.
Here's the words to my poem:Redemption
What can redemption mean?
It cannot stand for the use of a coupon
Not just canceling of a debt
Nor even the end of time spent in jail
Redemption! Such majesty in't
Like the charge of battle, like belting horns
The very word perks the heart
And rightly so to all who grasp its reality
But redemption's not just a word
A picture, a theme, an epic daily that walks
Weaving its rescue in our breaths
And, making fresh, echoes in us the Way
See redemption in this all
A true King dying on a tree for all the world
Families rejoin in love's bond
Murderers forgiven, sacrifices restore, kisses return
Redemption's free for all exceptions
You only have to get on a narrow path
And see up - but if you grasp not
What's redemption, then you must need it so!

Spring forward or Fall back, I don't care...just pick one and stick to it!"I loathe the time change and always have. In the US, the second worst day of the year for auto accidents is the Monday after we switch to Daylight Savings Time in the States, Memorial Day being the worst. Heart attacks also increase. (there is also a rise with the time change in the fall)
A new study, “Spring Forward at your Own Risk: Daylight Saving Time and Fatal Vehicle Crashes” by Austin Smith at the University of Colorado Boulder, found that during the first six days of daylight saving time there were 302 driving-related deaths and associated costs of $2.75 billion over a 10-year period.
Even more surprising, the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (a division of the NHTSA) discovered a 17 percent increase in traffic fatalities on the Monday after the shift to Daylight Savings Time. https://autos.yahoo.com/10-worst-days...
There are similar results in other countries that switch times in the spring and the fall.
Booooo, I hate Daylight Savings Time too. Especially in the Spring Forward. I agree, pick one and leave it at that. There's one thing I'm glad I got to see in my lifetime, though. In our state, TN, we no longer have to go to Marta and sit in our cars so we can get our yearly car tags--Yaaay!!!! It's over!!!!
Happy St. Patrick's Day, Christine! Is anyone doing anything to celebrate? We usually have corned beef and cabbage, but didn't even plan that this year.
Speaking of Daylight Savings Time--they just passed the law to end it. Starting Nov. 2023, we will no longer have to spring forward or fall back. It's about time!!!! (no pun intended:)
I thought it only passed the senate so far or did I miss it? It still needs to go through the house and have Biden sign off on it. It passed the senate unanimously though, so that's excellent!
They announced it just the other day on the Prime-Time News. They said it was a done deal; and that it would take until Nov. of next year to implicate so they could reorganize something, I forget what. I'm sure I heard that...Even if the news jumped the gun, I'm sure Biden will agree. But that's what they said:)
Very good. I just heard that it had passed the senate unanimously and was headed over to the house. They want to change it next November because it could interfere with some schedules that have already been set based on the current time changes, like for flights and such. This gives them a year to plan their schedules and avoid getting everything messed up. Only time will tell if it will actually help. lol
I just saw the new price of gas:Regular--an arm
Premium--a leg
Diesel--both
LOL--I thought everyone could use a laugh:)

I spoke to my manager on Tuesday, he asked when I will be returning to the office, and I said "when I can afford it". He shook his head and said "understandable" :P

But I'd be even happier if we didn't have to do two more time changes before then.
Thanks Kristie and nope Kristie and oh ok Kristie and oh that stinks Kristie and thanks EdenB15 and oh that’s cool EdenB15

I'm in TN too!!!! YAY for no emissions!!!! But I'm not crazy about those new ugly blue license plates LOL I have to go get one of those this month.
ETA: I just looked at your profile and OMG we are in the same city LOL I don't think I have ever met anyone on GR that lives where I do. I do know of one other person here on GR that lives in Nashville.
Hi, Robin!! A Nashville native--what??!! No more emissions tests, yes! And we get our license plates during the same month. I think I like the new plates over the ugly white ones. That's because dark-blue is one of my favorite colors:) It's so good to hear from you. Don't be a stranger.
I'm sooooo glad winter is on its way out. I hate winter. I look forward to Spring and Summer, replanting my garden, sitting out late at night and watching strange goings-on in the sky--LOL. Did I mention just slipping your feet in your favorite sandals and going about your day?Spring and Summer means freedom!!
Am I the only one that doesn't mind Daylight Savings Time? One hour difference is nothing to adjust to, and I will take a 2-3 day disruption over sunrises at 3am. Now THAT can really mess up your circadian rythm much more than DST already does.

I live in Franklin and have been here almost my entire life : ) I ventured out in my younger years and tried living in other states but it didn't work out well for me LOL Oh yeah, if dark blue is your favorite color then I can understand that. It's been said that the change is for the automatic plate recognition technology, both fixed and mobile, which does help authorities not have to run plates manually but it also enable authorities to store that data for later analysis. Like anything else, I just want to get mine so I can legally go about my everyday errands and chores. Maybe when I lose my cell phone or anything else I can call them and they can tell me where I was....LOL
I'll try not to be a stranger and it was great hearing back from you as well!!!!
Yes, Spring is on the way....unfortunately. I know so many people look forward to it, but allergies have already hit me like a ton of brick this last 3 weeks. So much so that I was down, in bed for over a week. Send winter back to me please. I love spring and summer activities, but not the sickness that goes with it : (
