Happy birthday to you, too, JoJo! I know that we don’t interact much and I apologize but I still wanted to give you b-day wishes. 😊 May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and be with you every day of your life!
Thank you, mine is on the 16th. I don't have any plans yet to do anything. Maybe just a good dinner that someone else cooks so I don't have to cook ; )
That sounds like a good plan. When I was younger I never realized how wonderful it would be to not have to plan, cook, and clean up after a dinner for a night. lol My daughter is the 14th. :) My brother was also the 14th.
Question - what's the hype around Coleen Hoover and which book should I read to get a feel for her writing? HELP ME OUT hahah

I have a niece and two granddaughters that have February birthdays. One of them birthdays was leap year Feb 29. Do you consider a leap year birthday in February when there aren't 29 days? Happy Birthday JoJo

February 29 birthdays are a challenge! There is even a bit of that in one of Gilbert & Sullivan musicals--it's used as an argument to spare a pirate when there was a mistake between pilot (for a ship) and pirate, so he thought he was doing what his father wanted or something like that. I think Pirates of Penzance, but could be mistaken--not sure how many musicals had pirates, but more than one had boats.

sounds interesting
Yes, Groovy. I haven't had too much time to watch the Olympics since they started, but I've enjoyed what I've seen. Always fun to watch.

Happy Birthday!!
I watched the Opening Ceremonies and now we are focusing on the figure skating, though I do enjoying the curling - I find it very relaxing.
Christine wrote: "I’m getting my booster shot today"Good for you, Christine. Hope everything goes well for you.
I am going line dancing today. I haven't been line dancing in many, many years and will have no idea what I'm doing. Still, just a fun way to get out and move.
Thanks Kristie and thanks Kristie and oh that’s cool Kristie and oh ok Kristie and oh that’s cool Kristie
In our house, my husband watches the Olympics and I check on Canada's medal count (and all medal counts). I am a dual, but root for my home country first (I have a list of priorities) but once in a while I root for an athlete from some random place if they are very good and their country has never won a medal or they have an amazing or heartbreaking life story. That said, I might watch some figure skating at some point--perhaps the doubles since Canada has a cool team (but older)--but perhaps more because I love to watch it.
I mostly watch skiing, cross-country skiing, and the half-pikes with my daughter. All the best, Christine. I can't get my booster until April. Until then, I'm dealing with post Covid symptoms in my lungs.
Have fun, Kristi!
Oh that’s cool Karin and oh that’s cool Groovy and thanks Groovy and oh ok Groovy and your in my thoughts Groovy
My son tested positive for it a few weeks ago, but I was negative. We'd both been ill, but it wasn't covid because we got that from one of my daughters who tested neg for that (with good testing, not done ourselves.)We have been vaccinated, but I have never been ill from any coronavirus (there are others, of course)--I just did it because I'll need the card. The first booster (so 2nd shot) was the worst (the second one not as bad as the first one) because obviously the mRNA is in there doing it's thing. That said, we all reacted a bit differently to the vaccine.
Groovy wrote: "...Kristie, did you have fun line dancing?"It was so fun! I've only had one class so far. I will definitely need to find some time to practice before my next class or I'll forget everything. lol
I hope your son is doing well, Karin. I didn't want the vaccine, but I didn't want to be a burden on the already overworked healthcare workers. And I know that if I didn't get it, I would have ended up in the hospital in serious trouble.Good for you, Kristie.

He's happy that he is now exempt from on campus covid testing for 90 days (had a 7 day quarantine before going back--he commutes)
No problem Groovy and I made a quick recovery after my booster shot Groovy and you and your whole family are in my thoughts Karin
Here's a song I wrote the other day that I hope will help and encourage you in some way:Listen up, listen real good, to the godspell I'm about to tell
I have purdy good news
If all I tell you don't make your heart up and fly
Reckon nothing else can
Do you ever get how in love He is with you?
How very big, how very giant is His love?
The angels all host the parties in your honor
That the good Lord throws way above
You could slip and cuss or hurt a soul a lot
But what you do changes nary a thing
For it's His beauty in your whole weak flesh
Makin' you in His sight clean of anything
Yes, you are good in all ways
What you have inside is holy to Him
And He is for you for good 'n all
Nothin' bad you'll do will make that dim
So why carry on with your load
When there ain't a thing wrong with ya?
Stand up tall and keep no fear
For the Father-God loves every piece of ya
Did you know that when He looks at you
He's tickled at what He sees
There is no need to go a-hidin' very much
Not when it's true that He believes
Every defeat, every struggle and woe
Ain't what makes you now
It's gospel truth and boys howdy
Does He like ya so now!
And even if ya ain't His
He loves you to pieces!
This song is true for ALL who really trust in His rescuing power. And if it doesn't apply to you, well, hey, it can!You only have to open your eyes and heart to the Son of our Father-King: Jesus Christ.
I hope it doesn't make you believe that I'm trying to proselytize you. I ain't. I only want you to think on what the song means for you.
Eden, I'm so sorry to hear this. Are you having any symptoms? The only thing you can do now is sit back and ride the wave, drink plenty of fluids, and rest. I hope you have family to help take care of you.
Yeh it’s rlly horrible wouldn’t wish it on anyone! Thank u sm. my brother has it as well but my parents r doing their best while trying not to catch it themselves.

Hi everyone! Would like to find some books with a lot of humor. What are some of the funniest books that you have read?
Barb wrote: "Hi everyone! Would like to find some books with a lot of humor. What are some of the funniest books that you have read?"Do you enjoy mysteries? I think the Miss Fortune series (starts with Louisiana Longshot) and the Andy Carpenter series (starts with Open and Shut) have quite a bit of humor in them. The Andy Carpenter one has a lot of humorous banter and Miss Fortune does at times too, but it can also be almost slapstick at times.

Added your recommendations to my Want to Read list. I have come to find I really enjoy some mystery, like Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache series and I love when there is humorous banter between characters.
