Love Knows No Social Rules by Aria Norton Love Knows No Social Rules Third book in the Daring Ladies Fighting for Love Series by Aria Norton on Kindle. ARC
I wasn't real keen on this book. It was hard to get involved with the book. The story line was good, but it dragged out and got boring. Many times sentences and dialogue were repeated. The characters were flat to me. They didn't seem to speak or act in a believable way. I found Colin wishy-washy and Charlotte very immature. I like Aria Norton's writing very much, but this just didn't do it for me. 2 star review

Look Alive Twenty-Five (Stephanie Plum, #25) by Janet Evanovich Look Alive Twenty-Five by Janet Evanovich in hard cover
This was the first book in the series that I didn't find as entertaining. There were parts where I would just laugh out load, usually something Lula did or said. It was too drawn out with too many characters to keep track of. I love Ranger but Morelli is my man. Too little of Morelli and too much Ranger and the Ranger cave. I missed the interaction with Stephanie and Grandma Maser. It just didn't flow well like the other books. Stephanie has gotten a big potty mouth that I don't care for. I'm not a prude, but she never seemed intelligent enough to use obscenities. I would have enjoyed more of the background of the magician poofing in and out. He was hilarious. I think it's time to marry Stephanie off to Joe and call the series done. One more to read. Hope its better.

Twisted Twenty-Six (Stephanie Plum, #26) by Janet Evanovich Twisted Twenty-Six by Janet Evanovich in hardcover
Grandma Maser was married to a mobster for 45 minutes before he keels over with a heart attack. Now the rest of his 'business partners' are looking for "the keys" that Jimmy had. What are these for and what do they open? Grandma has no inklings regarding the keys. The mob is ready to shake her down. She is also being intimidating by Jimmy's ex-wives and sisters. I feel it is time for the Plum series to come to an end. There were a few spots in the book that had me laughing, but the rest was mundane. Even Lulu and her antics are getting old. I did like reading more of the Plum family and my sweet Morelli. Stephanie needs to marry the man and move on. She also needs to grow up. It's time Janet to move on to something else. 2 star review

Highlander's Forbidden Soulmate by Lydia Kendall Highlander's Forbidden Soulmate by Lydia Kendall. First book in the Highlanders of War and Desire: A Scottish Medieval Highlander Romance Collection. On Kindle ARC
Victoria Moore finally found out about the scandal in their family regarding her Aunt Emily and the Scotsman Fergus MacTavish. Their son was secretly taken back to Scotland after Emily died in a dungeon in childbirth. Now, years later, Hector MacTavish is honoring the last wishes of his father, Fergus to find his brother Andrew. If he is even still alive. Victoria Moore has been looking for the boy also. There is no love lost still after all these years between the English Moore's and the MacTavish's. When Hector and his best friend Donald head to England to look for his brother, he is surprised with a note at the inn wanting to meet with him regarding his brother. He is even more surprised when the beautiful Victoria Moore is the one he is meeting. There is suspense, mystery, romance and love of family in this story. He grabbed my attention from the very beginning. Although I figured out the ending early on, it was a delight to get there. i really enjoyed the characters as they were strong, well defined, charming and brave. I just really loved this book.

Torn Between Two Highlanders by Lydia Kendall Torn Between Two HighlandersSecond book in the Highlanders of War and Desire: A Scottish Medieval Highlander Romance Collection. On Kindle ARC
Ellen Horton is grieving so after her father was murdered. Her Uncle Charles, as she calls him, has given her the news before her tears even dry, that in her father's will she is to marry immediately Lachlan, Laird Elairon oldest son. She meets him briefly at her fathers funeral and instantly takes a dislike to him. On the other hand, she finds herself attracted to his brother Alexander. She is quickly whisked away to Scotland with her Uncle Charles to prepare for the wedding. Ellen continues to feel uncomfortable around Lachlan, but comes to terms that she has no choice in this marriage. He is egotistical, broodish and controlling. Alexander has always done what is right, until he falls in lust and love with Ellen. As much as they both know that their relationship can't come to fruition, they can't stay away from each other. This is a bad ending waiting to happen. I enjoyed the story line but felt it dragged out quite a bit which made me start scanning through pages. Finally the tempo picked up and the spicy sex, suspense and intrigue kicked it. I would have like the ending to have been lengthened though. I believe we were left hanging until the extended epilogue. I felt though it was a fun, sexy, romance, exciting book. 4 star review

Highlander’s Wicked Seduction by Lydia Kendall Highlander’s Wicked Seduction Third book in the Highlanders of War and Desire: A Scottish Medieval Highlander Romance Collection. On Kindle ARC
Diana Elton loves her brother Charles and would never imagine him forcing her to marry. Especially to a man she has no interest in. So to escape the forced betrothal, she runs away to her Godmothers. But she never makes it. She takes a fall off her trusty horse and is found by Kentigern Forbes, Laird of Braewood. A kind, handsome man who takes her back to his castle to care for her after realizing she has amnesia. When the doors fly open to find her brother Charles and her betrothed standing there. All comes flying back to her. From here on in, its fight or flight for many of them. I really enjoyed this story. A Perfect Mess (Hope Parish #1; A Perfect Secret, #1) by Zoe Dawson A Perfect Mess by Zoe Dawson in PDF form
In all the years I have been reading and also reviewing books for authors, I have never quit reading a book..until NOW! The title says it all! It had no real story line or plot, and when it did, it was short lived and taken over by the vulgar language and descriptions. I enjoy sexy romance novels, but this wasn't even romantic. I couldn't even label this erotica or porn. It was just vulgar trash. I got so bored and tired of hearing about his 'hard-on' all the time and of her immature antics and remarks. I really can't believe the wonderful people that live by the bayou you use the F-word every other word when they speak. I was appalled and embarrassed for them. I was so bored with it, I tried to scan though to find something, anything remotely interesting. Giving a 5 star rating is too much. I just couldn't stand it anymore.

Just One Kiss (Whisper Lake #4) by Barbara Freethy Just One Kiss by Barbara Freethy on Kindle. ARC
Hannah Stark has never forgiven Jake McKenna from cheating on her, humiliating her and breaking her heart twelve years ago. She avoids him at all costs now that she has been back home. Jake has given up on having her forgive him, yet he refuses to be honest with her and tell her the awful truth of what happened that night. On a winters night at a cabin in the mountains, they come upon a little boy left alone. A note to tell her to take care of her son. What kind of mother would leave a small child alone in a cabin? This night not only changes Hannah and Jake's relationship, but also the lives of their families. This is a very heartwarming second chance story with drama, mystery and suspense and of course romance. I couldn't put this book down!! Again Barbara Freethy gives another one of her amazing stories. I haven't read all in this series, but it definitely can be read as a stand alone book. I can't wait to read the others. I would certainly recommend this book. It was fantastic. I would give it more than a 5 star review if I could.

In Plain Sight A Time To Heal by Rose Verde in PDF form
I was really drawn into this book. Emma has lived with her grandmother with her brother Dan and sister Alexis since Emma's car crash a few months ago. She now has amnesia and now has someone after her. When Emma finds her sister with a gun shot wound to her head, the fast-paced investigation starts immediately . Ty Taylor has taken it on as his job to find out who this person is. Ty has many issues and ghosts in his closet too. This story grabbed my attention from the very beginning. The story is set in Amish country and is a clean, inspirational story. But it also has romance, lots of mystery, suspense and intrigue. It is gruesome and descriptive in parts but not enough to take away from the book. All the characters are very well defined. I can usually figure out the "who dunnit" but not this time! I certainly was off on this one. Made it more exciting. It needed some extra proofing and editing, but not a lot to change my review score. I really enjoyed this book and would certainly recommend it. Excellent for a good Halloween mystery.

Baby Business by Brenda Novak Baby Business by Brenda Novak in paperback
Thad, an Advertising Exec, lost his wife and unborn child 18 months ago. His grief is beyond belief. He wants a child of his own to fill the loss, but he feels he can never love another woman, so he places an ad for woman to have his child artificially with no strings attached. He is willing to spend a lot of money for it too. Mazy is coming off a horrible divorce with her ex-husband running off with a high schooler. Their daughter Haley is battling cancer and needs a bone marrow transplant. But Thad keeps changing the deal. Macy's only concern is getting her daughter well. I loved this sweet story. This was a completely unique story line. I felt Thad was a big jerk at times, but I loved how strong Macy was. She never backed down to Thad, no matter her feelings she was starting to experience for him. Thad just can't let go of his late wife. I love the line from Macy, "Three is a crowd in the bedroom." This book brought tears to my eyes many times. It is a very emotional book. It's filled with romance, second loves, forgiveness, and family. You can tell by the cover the ending, but it sure was wonderful getting to it. I would absolutely recommend this book. 5 star review

The Queen's Traitor by Eleanor Keating The Queen's Traitor by Eleanor Keating on Kindle, ARC
Griffith Blackstone, Earl of Garstonshire is fleeing England as he has been accused of treason, plotting against the Queen. Some one supposedly sent letters from him plotting against the Queen. Now, he must find out who this or these people are and prove his innocence before someone finds him and hangs him. In this, he meets the beautiful. strong and independent Lady Sorcha Eldon. Lady Sorcha is not your ordinary woman. She has a gift of a seer and has insight as a witch that her mother handed down to her as well as a healer. Griffith needs her insight and bravery to warn him and help him in eluding the men after him and his head. So together with Griffith's men, they go out to seek the answers and truth. After being ambushed, Lady Sorcha also shows her great gift with a dagger and bow. They all fight together and Sorcha and Griffith fall in love. But nothing can come of it until his name is cleared. But they vow in their hearts that they will do everything and anything in their powers to keep each other safe. I had a difficult time putting this book down. It was filled with such raw emotion. There was the romance, mystery and suspense. All the characters were so strong and well defined. The story wraps you up that you feel you are there with them. The betrayal and hardships of these characters. Who can you trust? This is a well written story about how times were back in the days. The Queen would make examples of those who were unworthy to her. Although this is a clean romance, it can be quite graphic regarding the battles and war scenes. I just loved this story and would absolutely recommend it. 5 star review

For a Dreamy Lady's Honour by Abigail Agar For a Dreamy Lady's Honour: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Abigail Agar on Kindle. ARC
I enjoyed the book and the story line. A story of heartache, revenge, loyalty to family and abandoned loves. I felt it was very dragged out though. It could have been condensed and still keep the wonderful story. It kept going over the feelings and descriptions. I felt like, "lets move on." I found myself scanning over many pages to get to something new. The characters were strong and well defined and I really enjoyed the ending. I was also very disappointed that the Extended Epilogue the link had was NOT for the correct book. So I lost out on reading that. Not one of my favorite reads by this author. 3 star review

True Love for the Reluctant Earl by Eleanor Keating True Love for the Reluctant Earl by Eleanor Keating on Kindle
ARCLady Adelaide has been told what and how to do everything by her dominating mother all her life. She wants to live a quiet life with her books and find a man she loves for a husband. She wants nothing to do with the ton and all the rules, regulations and trappings. Her father wants her to wed a man of means and title who Lady Adelaide detests. Edward, the Earl of Bellham has learned from his father's will that he must marry a lady of title and noble birth within 90 days. He loved and lost once and has no desire to marry for love, only for convenience and to receive his inheritance. Lady Adelaide and Edward meet at a masquerade ball. Edward finds Adelaide not like the other women in the ton. He finds himself captivated by her. I really enjoyed this story. It did drag on at parts, but I found the story line fun and interesting. Many twists and turns in this book. A clean historic romance with suspense and some mystery. I am surprised my negative reviews as I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book. 5 star review
