Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments I'm loving Sulari Gentill's Rowland Sinclair series and his mum is fast becoming a favourite character: she had a bigger role in Give the Devil His Due.

That's the book's profile you've linked Denisa, not your review :) Welcome to the group too!

Carolyn | 9836 comments My review of An Irish Country Family (Irish Country #14) by Patrick Taylor An Irish Country Family by Patrick Taylor. Number 14 in this cosy tale of a small Irish village in Northern Ireland in the 1960s and it's young doctor, Barry Laverty, but could easily be read as a stand alone.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments I just finished a magical, lyrical book about the ocean. Under the Sea-wind by Carson Rachel by Rachel Carson is just amazing.

Not a fast read, as it is full of beautiful writing that must be savored, but I am so glad to have read it again.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments I just enjoyed the children's picture book of the colourful, (some might say outrageous, especially her fashion designs) Vivienne Westwood by Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara. What a wildly inventive lady and role model for kids to learn it's good to stick up for others and protest against evil.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments The current Buzz Books 2020: Spring/Summer is chock-a-block with excerpts from all kinds of new books and it's free for anyone. But be warned that it will tempt your wallet. I picked a few I like the look of.

Carolyn | 9836 comments My review for Colombiano by Rusty Young Colombiano by Australian author Rusty Young. It's a big book (over 800 pages) and there are many scenes of violence, as it is about a teenage boy who joins the Colombian paramilitaries to avenge his father's death by guerrillas.

It's not a book I would have selected to read myself so am glad the publisher offered me a copy as it was well worth the read.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments I just finished a really nice, quite unique ARC from Allen & Unwin.
House on Endless Waters by Emuna Elon is actually not a new book - it was previously published in Hebrew, this is an English translation and it is a lovely job! An easy four stars.

Andrea | 2163 comments As a child I was scarred for life by the movie, but the short story of Don't Look Now by Daphne du Maurier didn't have quite the same impact.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments I'm a bit later to the party with the Orphan X series by Gregg Hurwitz. I think it would translate well to film a la Jason Bourne. For #1 Orphan X, park your disbelief, locate the grabrail and hold on for the ride.

My review of Finding Eden, Mia Sheridan.
I liked better this second part than firs, Becoming Calder, as the characters are more profound, better designed, more able to analyse and understand themselves and the others.
