Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments A little predictable, A Dog's Chance by American author, Casey Wilson is feel-good fiction for dog lovers.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I really like the third installment of Charlaine Harris's Harper Connelly, when the relationship of the main protagonists takes a turn. Alyssa Bresnahan's narration of the audio version is excellent.

Carolyn | 9840 comments This is an interesting historical novel based around Temperance Flowerdew who settled in Jamestown in 1609 just before the harsh winter of 1609, when 80% of the colony was wiped out by starvation. Temperance went on to become the wife of two Governors of Virginia.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Martha, Martha, Martha! (with apologies to The Brady Bunch). Martha is a hot/cold muddled mess in Sorrow and Bliss, the most wonderful new book by Aussie author Meg Mason.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Meanwhile in Dopamine City is the first book I have read by Man-Booker prize-winning Aussie-born author, D.B.C. Pierre. If I didn't particularly like the format, I did find it clever, funny and insightful about today's world.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Grave Secret wraps up my reread (audio with excellent narration by Alyssa Hanrahan) of probably my favourite series by Charlaine Harris (although there is a short story where Harris teams up with Andrew Gross, Dig Here that I will reread soon.) All puzzles resolved in this final book.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Fans of the excellent Detective Megan Thomas series by British author, Susan Wilkins need to go to her web page and sign up to her newsletter, for which you receive a free novella in the series, The Right Side of the Line. In this case you definitely get a lot more than you pay for!!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments The audio version of Lionel Shriver's latest novel, The Motion of the Body Through Space is read by Laurence Bouvard, whose rendition of the protagonist's husband is rather unpleasant to listen to. Luckily the rest is very pleasant.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Fans of Arthur Upfield are bound to enjoy this debut novel set in WA in 1927, Death Leaves the Station, by Aussie author, Alexander Thorpe. I do hope this guy has more of these characters up his literary sleeve...
