Die Trying
by Lee ChildJack Reacher #2, OK to read as stand-alone. Reacher gets hooked up with a right-wing militia. It's a Reacher story; you either like them or you don't. I do. 4 stars.
This is a wonderful little murder-mystery set in 1960's Oklahoma. This sat for too long on my NetGalley backlog shelf. Wish I'd read it earlier. Where the Hurt Is Chris Kelsey

I am really enjoying the description of life in Jersualem and the differences in the Jewish traditions. I do have to keep remembering that it was published in 1969 though.

Doesn't work on the app, unfortunately.
I am about to start a mystery novel from 1935 calledThe Hex Murder: A Golden-Age Mystery Reprint, published by Coachwhip, which is one of the best indie publishers for golden-age fiction that is completely out of the ordinary mainstream. (Dean Street Press is another). Part of the background of this book is a real-life case in Pennsylvania where three men killed another man, believing that he was a witch and that he had put a spell on one of them. This happened, believe it or not, in 1928.
finished Bluebird, Bluebird
