Agreed - I enjoyed the book too
Need a suggestion for next Christie book to read- have recently finished Nemesis and Five Little Pigs. I have read Murder on the Orient Express and And Then There Were None in the past. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I recently enjoyed the prequel (#.7) to Aussie-Irish author Dervla McTiernan's excellent Cormac Reilly mystery series. The Roommate is delightfully creepy.

Loved Death in Delft! This is the first of a brand new series from Graham Brack, (creator of my favourite Czech detective, Josef Slonsky). Master Mercurius is already another favourite character.

I finished:
The Lady in the Lake by Raymond Chandler
Rating: 4 stars
Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
and I started reading:
Pop. 1280 by Jim Thompson
I Am Death
by Chris CarterRobert Hunter #7, OK to read as stand-alone. Police procedural about the search for a serial killer. Average quality novel with the addition of many very detailed descriptions of the abuse of a young boy and of the sadistic torture and killing of several young women. Much more detail than necessary, book is not recommended.
I have re-started The Book of Daniel. I was on page 29 in 2009. I couldn't remember what was going on.
I am just starting
The First Wife by Jill Childs after finishing
Knock Knock by Chris Merritt. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and my webpage https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...

Chris Carter is one of my favorite authors - I love the Robert Hunter series....
Finished A Mind to MurderbyP.D. James this is the second in the long, long running series. Again, I'm dipping into books I should have read years ago, more head hanging in shame, Bill. Very good.
I also finished The Paris Hours by Alex George. This was a not officially a mystery but it would certainly be classified as suspenseful. Beautiful writing.

Finger Lickin' Fifteen
by Janet EvanovichStephanie Plum #15, OK to read as stand-alone. Further amusing adventures of Stephanie Plum, girl bounty hunter. Lula sees a guy get his head chopped off, Ranger's business is in trouble, and the pressure cooker explodes.
Out of Circulation
by Miranda JamesIn this fourth book in the 'Cat in the Stacks' cozy mystery series, library archivist Charlie Harris investigates the murder of the town's most unpopular woman. The book can be read as a standalone.
Entertaining cozy. 3 stars

Damage Done, first book in a new police procedural series by Susan Wilkins. An interesting character study. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
About to begin
The Boy from the Woods by Harlan Coben after finishing a book that drew me in as I read,
The First Wife by Jill Childs. My spoiler free review can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and on my webpage.
I can't resist a visit to Canadian author Louise Penny's Three Pines, so I recently enjoyed The Long Way Home. Now looking forward to the next one!

^thats great it’s not only me thank god.. I always feel a bit bad giving those out because I know how much time and effort these authors do. Some are not bad I just feel that how it come across is bad as well as the layout on kindle sometimes it seems whole sentences are missing and I find it hard to get into the story.. has that been an issue when reading ARCs on NetGalley?
Not a mystery, but an interesting story. And it has plenty of criminals. Hollywood Park
by Mikel JollettIn this memoir, rock band lead singer Mikel Jollett - who spent the first five years of his life in the Synanon cult - writes about the arc of his life, from troubled childhood to successful adult.
Very good book. 4 stars

Reading another early book by a long standing author, Icy Clutches byAaron Elkins Really enjoying the mystery and the descriptions of Alaska.

They are really great short stories. I enjoyed them all
The Boy from the Woods
by Harlan CobenHester Crimstein - the formidable criminal defense lawyer who easily bests police and prosecutors - is a secondary character in Harlan Coben's 'Myron Bolitar' series. In this book Hester gets a starring role when her grandson comes to her for help.
The novel is a standalone and appears to be the start of a new series. A narcissistic politician in the story reminds me of someone.....
Good story. 3 stars

I just finished The King's JusticeSusan Elia MacNealI enjoyed it and rate it 4 stars. It is a murder mystery set in WWII London, UK
Dead Docket
by Mitchell GrahamDelaney and Adams #2, OK to read as stand-alone. Ex-cop lawyer is asked by friend to straighten out the estate of his dead daughter, but things don't smell right. Pretty good book, rather reminiscent of Nelson DeMille, with an off-the-wall male protagonist and a straight-arrow female partner.
am currently reading
Pretty Guilty Women by Gina Lamanna... so far very intriguing am loving all the back biting between the women hehe
I'm reading The Holdout and loving it. I'm doing a couple other reading challenges, so I have not read my usual fare - and I'm so excited when I do. Love a good legal thriller, and really like how the protagonist's character is developing.I was late to discovering Koethi Zan, but The Never List was one of my favorite books of last year. Great characters, great pacing, situations I could relate to -- I loved it!
I got hold of her second novel first thing this year The Follower, and really enjoyed it. Definitely a slower burn, but I loved the character-driven mystery. So good, right up to the last paragraph!
