I just finished The Killer on the Fens and I’m loving this series.
Here’s my review:

Don’t Turn Back,by D.S. Butler, third book in the DS Karen Hart Series. It unexpectedly and cleverly turn the three books into a trilogy. TBR March, 26th.

The Burglar on the Prowl
by Lawrence BlockIn this 10th book in the comical 'Bernie Rhodenbarr' mystery series, the professional thief/amateur sleuth investigates a nefarious scheme. The book can be read as a standalone.
Overly complicated plot but the book provides some laughs. 3 stars

Just finished Monster Hunter International by Larry Correia and started The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Just finished Brian Freeman's standalone psychological thriller, Thief River Falls
. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Smoke and Mirrors
by Elly GriffithsMagic Men #2, OK to read as stand-alone. Brighton, England, early 1950's, winter. 2 children are missing and Detective Edgar Stephens is tasked with the search. I loved the first Magic Men book; this one not so much. First half is slow going, then things speed up. 3 stars.
I finished "The Island of Sea Women". This is going around as a popular book club pick. I thought it was pretty bad, mediocre writing, two dimensional characters, not well structured, and episodes of graphic violence, for the faint of heart. After I finished it, I talked to a few other readers who had the same reaction, that they just didn't understand the hype.
I finished the 3rd CI Morse mystery this morning, The Silent World of Nicholas Quinn by Colin Dexter. Most enjoyable, 4.5 starshttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Next is the 20th Kinsey Milhone mystery, T is for Trespass by Sue Grafton
Just finished a disappointing locked room mystery
Night Train to Murder by Simon R. Green which i hope is just a blip in an otherwise excellent series. My spoiler free review can be found at https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/... and https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...I am about to begin
One Moment by Linda Green
The Shallows
by Matt GoldmanNils Shapiro #3, OK to read as stand-alone. Very fine entry in the series as Nils is hired to investigate a dead lawyer by his widow, and along the way encounters some very topical social and political issues. Great puzzling plot and fascinating characters. 4 stars, series is highly recommended.

I'm not a huge fan of Lisa See in general. Mediocre writing about covers it.

I just finished Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit, a book to be read while it's daytime. I love the Netflix show but got to the book afterward, but it's different enough that I was creeped out. Hence the reading only during the day.
Just finished the doll factory by Elizabeth Macneal.... it’s good but a bit odd for me there’s something about it I can’t love it enough. Onto The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yokomizo
Elizabethan England - Shakespeare and Marlowe as minor characters with questionable ethics - great mix of real and imagined characters in P.F. Chisholm’s entertaining Sir Robert Carey historical mystery series. Loved A Murder of Crows.
4.5★ Link to my Murder of Crows review

Another Forester story next, The Captain from Connecticut
Finished Dread Journey by Dorothy B. Hughes. Another good one from an underrated noir writer. Rating - 4/5

Something She's Not Telling Us by:

Trouble Is What I Do
by Walter MosleyIn this 6th book in the 'Leonid McGill' series, the private detective runs into trouble when he agrees to deliver a letter. The book can be read as a standalone.

The Anatomy of Motive is another good one. I read somewhere that he was the basis for the character in Silence of the Lambs who was the head of the behavior profiling unit.
The Pale Criminal
by Philip KerrBernie Gunther #2, OK to read as stand-alone. Summer, Berlin, 1938. Someone is kidnapping and killing teenage girls. This is a very well done series and is highly recommended.
Finished Creatures of Appetite
by Todd Travis, a 4 star read from a free download! Started
The General's Daughter by Nelson DeMille
I finished. Hard Rain by Irma VenterI enjoyed this mystery set in Tanzania.
My 4 star review

Where the Innocent Die, D.I. Ridpath #4, by M.J Lee. An excellent procedural, neo pulp noir, with a lot of food for thought on top of a great mystery.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
just finished Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. i found many of the events irrelevent to the story and it was too long for no apparent reason . but nevertheless i did not expect the ending.
Suspect
by Robert CraisIn this first book in the 'Scott James and Maggie' series, the police officer and his K-9 dog do their initial training and investigate a crime.
Good thriller. And it has dog! 4 stars

Another dog nut! Nothing like a good mystery that includes a dog.
Just finished Lavender Blue Murder by Laura Childs. Starting Bury Them Deep by James Oswald. I love both series' and have read every book in them both.
