The Stranger The Stranger by Harlan Coben by Harlan Coben

A young man called 'the stranger' makes it his business to expose people's secrets. Naturally this causes no end of trouble.

The plot is a bit unrealistic, but it's suspenseful. 3 stars

A very interesting psychological story about two women communicating over email and text about a dispute over an Airbnb rental.

PattyMacDotComma | 920 comments The Good Turn by Aussie/Irish author Dervla McTiernan is her best one yet! Irish detective Cormac Reilly is trying to fight crime and his superiors (I use the term loosely) at the same time.

Barbara | 1 comments Just finished Dean Koontz's "The Good Guy. I found it a real let down, had two things I am seeing a lot of lately - too long for the story that's being told, and a disappointing and sort of forced and incredible ending. Great set up, weak ending.

Araych | 676 comments Cut, Paste, Kill Cut, Paste, Kill (Lomax & Biggs, #4) by Marshall Karp by Marshall Karp

Lomax & Biggs #4, OK to read as stand-alone. Lomax and Biggs, LAPD detectives with strong senses of humor, track a serial killer targeting terrible people. Interestingly, one of the acts of one of the fictional terrible people was nearly recreated in reality in 2019, 9 years after this book was written. This entry didn't seem to me to be as funny as most. 3 stars.

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 9973 comments X X (Kinsey Millhone, #24) by Sue Grafton by Sue Grafton

In this 24th book in the 'Kinsey Milhone' series, the private detective investigates two complex cases - one of which involves her fellow private detective Pete Wolinsky. The book can be read as a standalone.

The story meanders more than most books in the series but it's always good to visit with Kinsey and her nonagenarian landlord Henry. 3 stars

Do you know if the family plans to publish Z?

Kathryn I believe Grafton’s wishes were to let it end with Y. She didn’t want another author to finish. I can respect that.

Andy Carpenter #8, OK to read as stand-alone. Andy and his client, a one-legged thief, get caught up in multiple murders and a huge financial conspiracy. This series never disappoints. 4 stars.
