for me. It is the nudge I needed to read it, and I am so grateful that I did. It was a beautiful story - no, that's not the right word. There was nothing beautiful about it really. However, it is probably one of THE best and important books I have read. It touched me deeply. I steer away from historical fiction. I'm not sure why. Probably a head in the sand kind of thing. I will be haunted by this one for a long time.

Mrahh!! I wish I loved Behind the Bars as much as you did. Of all things, It kind of lost me in the second half. Crazy, after all my worry during the first half. Lol. In the end, I gave it roughly 3 stars.
T., I never seem to love things as much as everyone else, so I get it. Which reminds me, I dont think I ever posted on this thread my rating for my pick.

I paused Beartown to read two ARCS, but I’ll wrap it up next week!
I'm rating When Ashes Fall 4 Stars, haven't posted my review yet though - - I thought it was f'ing with my head (which I love), but when my predication turned out right (when I was hoping I was wrong and the real story would blow me away), it was a bit of a disappointment. But I did really like the book! Thanks diann!
Jean Glad you liked it. I went into the story blind myself but I enjoyed it and was hoping you would too.
