Hi, I'd love to join this challenge, but I have a few questions. I have read 35 books that are part of series this year, 17 of which are new series to me. However, I don't usually start a series with book 1. So if I start a new series with book 12, does that count as: I will start __ series this year. (# books), or as: I will read __ books that are part of a series. (# books)? Thanks!

I am the same. I read a bunch of the series back then before I decided to read them in order. One of the main reasons I joined Goodreads in the first place was to keep track of my place in long series like this one. I was using a notebook and a pencil before.

And, what is interesting, out of the first 19 87th Precinct books I have yet to hit one I read before, so they are still somewhere down the list. Of course, I cannot remember which ones they were.
