I'm enjoying them but perhaps not as much as the Riyria Revelations. I have 2 books left in the series.

My eye keeps heading toward the series. I keep withdrawing because of the commitment to the series. I soooo liked the Riyria Revelations and Sullivan....I should just take the plunge.

Take the plunge. :)

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments I think I'm in a bit of a reading slump. I struggled coming up with my monthly reading plan. I think I may have over estimated what I want to read in September.

Audiobooks:

Everything I Never Told You - The Syndicate
Black House - Group themed read
The Book of Koli - new release, TT
Dragon Haven - buddy read, TT
The Book of Obeah - oldest TBR

Print Books:

The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom, TT (and hopefully earns me badge 3)
Washington Black - Monthly challenge
One Corpse Too Many - TT
The Child Thief - TT
We, the Drowned - Oldest TBR and has been punted over for 3 months running

At least you can bring yourself to write them down. ;o)

I just keep looking at all of the titles and nothing is calling to me.

Out of curiosity I had to look up your two "oldest TBR".

The Book of Obeah is not available to me from any of my free sources.

We, the Drowned, however, is in audio! It's a DOORSTOP. Rusulka gave it high praise and 4 stars. I've added it. Trusting in Rusulka! Maybe I can come back with some supportive comments.☺

message 108: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments I think the fact that We, the Drowned is a doorstop is one of the thing that is off-putting for me. I got that book when I was doing the "Around the World in 52 Books" challenge.

message 109: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19136 comments I still don't have a solid plan for September. I have the house to myself for today and most of tomorrow. I'l have to see if I get any reading done, then make a plan.

message 110: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 296 comments I have a new library book, so I will list that and a couple of challenge books. I just have not been motivated to read anything. I am resolved to make September reading more intentional so I am starting with shorter, easy to read books.

The Late Bloomers' Club by Louise Miller Hidden Treasure at the CatNip Hotel by Luna Snow Missing Purple Heart (Mike and Peter, FBI Agents #3) by Arleen Gabrio

Kristie | 19136 comments Finally came up with a "plan" for this month. I have a huge list of "maybe" reads that I'll select from if I have any additional time, but I'm really hoping to finish at least the books listed here.

September Plans:
Too Much and Never Enough

Reviews:
Deadly Waters
Anxious People
Don't Look for Me
The Coast-to-Coast Murders
The Shadows

RL book clubs:
Unbroken

September challenge:
Does This Baby Make Me Look Straight?: Confessions of a Gay Dad

September theme:
The Lake House
And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer

Ayacchi | 1722 comments Looking forward for your Backman's and The Shadows! I still have no plan for September except for the group read. I'll let it choose itself

It's nice to not have a plan sometimes, especially if you're a mood reader.

Kristie | 19136 comments I have a few books from the library that I expect to become available in November, but I don't know if I'll have time to read them so I'm going to leave them off. I may just postpone them or I'll add them to unplanned reads if I end up having extra time (ha).

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I have listened to Jane Eyre a couple of times, but I actually enjoyed the text more. I guess it will depend on who is the narrator.

What do you think?

I'd rather read Bloody Jacky Faber books by L.A. Meyer!

It's narrated by Thandie Newton. So far, I'm really enjoying her performance. I'm enjoying the audiobook more than the print edition.

I might abandon it. I've read through the first very long chapter (Kindle estimates the 1st chapter to be one hour long.) I'm not in the mood for it.

I should pick up the next Bloody Jacky Faber book. It's been a while since I've read any of her misadventures.

I use the HTML code word, "blockquote"

Just bracket it with the same "<" and "/>" as you use for spoilers.

The more you repeat the code in front of your text, the further the indentation. Don't forget to close the code with an equal amount of "/>"

I use it a lot....but if I don't type equal open and close symbols, I can get pretty confused as to why my text goes all wonky!

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments Thanks Almeta. I can see it would be handy for certain things.

Ha! Just looked under the "some html is ok", and it's there.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I’ve tried to figure out the indent too, and could never make it work. 😮
