Next Month's Reading Plans - 2020
I already have books pushed out to January because I've had more to read the past few months than I can possibly finish and that will continue in December. I love that the yearly challenge is ending though, which gives me a clean slate for those books starting in the new year. The only books I know I will need to start reading in January are the Orphan X series. I received Into the Fire as a review book, but haven't read the previous books in the series yet.

I don"t know.....I should just read all of the LEFTOVERS!
Wow Almeta, I am impressed!I only have 1 book lined up so far for January - Circling the Sun for my local library book club, but I feel come this weekend there will be many more!
January is just around the corner. I'm so excited! Audiobooks:
The Ten Thousand Doors of January - Buddy read (Jan 4), TT
Fool's Errand- buddy read (Jan 18) , TT
Unspeakable Things - 2020 release, TT
The Lake House- TBR, TT
Book/eBook:
The Map of Salt and Stars - Group Read, (Avail library CL), TT
The Little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules - Syndicate, TT
The Rook - Monthly Challenge
Cannery Row - TBR
Swamp Team 3 - just for fun, fits TT! Yeah!
I'm starting something new this year. I want to cross off the oldest books off my TBR to read and TBR to listen shelves. My TBR shelves are books that I own. Some have been hanging around for way too long.
What will be your first TT (Twisted Trivia book) for 2020? For me, it will either be The Ten Thousand Doors of January or The Map of Salt and Stars.
Janice wrote: "What will be your first TT (Twisted Trivia book) for 2020? For me, it will either be The Ten Thousand Doors of January or The Map of Salt and Stars."Most likely The Crystal Cave. Start big!

That's one of my favourite books from my younger days. It was the one that started me on my fascination with the Arthurian legend.

I'm planning on reading The Ten Thousand Doors of January as well. But I didn't make reading list for 2020 cause I usually only read half from the list 😅

I got a notice yesterday that The Ten Thousand Doors of January is available for pick up. I did not realize that the buddy read for this one had been scheduled for Jan 4th. I have a buddy read for Dread Nation starting on Jan 4th too. I guess I will be busy going back and forth.

Definitely! So excited to have buddies to read

January 1, 2020 to January 31, 2020
I am really attempting to read more books from my home in order to give them away in 2020. I also have a bunch of doorstoppers scheduled to read-at least one a month. Here is my current list for January.
Paper books:
The Luminaries
Rendezvous in Quebec
Prisoners of Hope: The Story of Our Captivity and Freedom in Afghanistan
Olive Kitteridge
The Hate U Give
Wicked Appetite
Ebooks:
A is for Alibi
Daily Dose of Determination
Audiobooks:
Saving Fish from Drowning
Library books:
The Glovemaker
Tuck Everlasting
Ok, I finally planned out this month's read. January plans: ✓
✓Orphan X review prep
✓The Nowhere Man review prep
Reviews:
Big Lies in a Small Town (pub Jan 14th)
RL book clubs:
✓The Art of Hearing Heartbeats (NN)
✘Caleb's Crossing (CWL)
✘The City (BLL)
January challenge: Year of the Rat
Red cover: Hellbent
January theme: Stars and Wars
✓Dread Nation stars on flag on cover
(also buddy read & TT challenge)
Maybe:
Sparrow Bookish review
The Burning Maze series read, library hold
Everything is Figureoutables library hold, TT challenge
I might skip one (or some) of my real life book club books so that I can catch up with reviews and keep up with group reads and library holds. I've started Caleb's Crossing three times now and fallen asleep all three times. I don't think it's necessarily the books fault, but I don't seem to be in the mood for it right now.
I think I'll prioritize Dread Nation instead since it works for so many areas (buddy read, TT challenge, group themed read) and just read Caleb's Crossing if I have "extra time."
January plans:The Three Musketeers (currently reading)
The Complete Poetry and Prose (currently reading, year-long read)
Hopscotch
The Dark Forest
Rama Revealed
Superman: Secret Identity
Spice & Wolf, Vol. 18: Spring Log
Welcome to the N.H.K.
Preacher, Volume 1: Gone to Texas

My amount of reading has gone down over the last couple years. I've had other stuff on and real life has gotten in the way. But I'm not happy about it. So this year, I'm going to up my reading again. I've set the goal of reading 52 books. The way I'm going to claw back time is spend less time on Facebook. I just scroll for no reason and look at shit that I'm not really all that interested in or that annoys me. I'm planning on getting up earlier during the week and that will mean I get my work stuff done sooner so I can have some time for myself at home to read as well. Let's see how that works out. I'm still not going to plan too much as it puts pressure on me. I will do at least 1 book for twisted trivia and see where I'm at then.
Sarah wrote: "My amount of reading has gone down over the last couple years. I've had other stuff on and real life has gotten in the way. But I'm not happy about it. I know sometimes I can get all caught up in the challenges and start feeling stressed and that just takes away from the joy of reading. One book at a time : )

or Death on the Nile ??
