Awesome! I hope to be done soon.
Are you doing #2?"
Yes. I have to figure out when I can work it in. Are you planning to read it?
When I watched the show I didn't understand about Kahlen and the Kandar rage. It's so nice having them explain the blood rage now.
I've totally got to get back to this. Still stuck around 14% because I've been in such a blah reading mood lately.
Making some headway. I'd forgotten how long this book really is. So much going on, always something. Rahl is so vile! Poor little Carl!!! Lol

That's what I heard too. I picked up the second book, which is huge on Friday when I was the the bookstore. They had a bunch of used copies for way cheap. I ended up walking out of the stores with 12 books. Four of them over 1000 pages.

I know. I feel the same way. It's like how can I hate you? You are just awesome. I love that he is a hardcore (view spoiler). I mean here is this really strong, evilish guy that tortures people and yet he will not (view spoiler)
I also liked it in the beginning of the book when Kahlan was at Richards and he was giving her a red apple. LOL. That's funny.
Ezinwanyi~the Impish Angel wrote: "It's weird hearing about "angry" Richard. On the show, angry Richard was still really tame."I know. I laughed whenever they start calling him Angry Richard.
Ezinwanyi~the Impish Angel wrote: "When I watched the show I didn't understand about Kahlen and the Kandar rage. It's so nice having them explain the blood rage now."I agree. The good thing is that I know what's going to happen but things are being explained so much more. I like that. I'm getting something new out of it and it's a great book.
BTW I did finish the book. I have the second book would like to read it with everyone. I'm just hoping possibly late January or February.

If you all are, I am in. This series are all rereads for me, it's been like five/six years ago since I read them.
Now that he is writing more, I need to catch up with my old friends again!

Oh, just wait...they do play a bigger part more as you get into the series.....they are not gone yet.
The one thing I didn't like in the TV show was the hair! The Mord Sith always wear their hair in the braid...it's like their trademark!

Yup, that very long long long braid. It's why when Rachel saw the long hair on Kahlan she was afraid.

I bought all of them within a six month time frame, as soon as I finished that first one, I was hooked...I am almost scared to read his new stuff, because I don't want it to ruin the ending he already gave.....but *sigh* I HAVE TOO.
I didn't pick up the whole series. I only picked up 2 from there. So I have book 2 and 3. They are in que. :PI picked up a bunch of other books. Sci-fi and fantasy, a few of Brandon Sanderson and such. I'm reading Warbreaker. Very interesting.
I'm going to have to find that TV show! LOLI would love to read the second book with you guys in late January or February.
I love the show because as it goes you see Kahlan's outfit show more cleavage as the show goes on. Also the slit on her shirt gets higher and higher. As for the Mord-Siths their cleavage also get lower. LOLBelieve me, a lot of they guys I know really liked the show. ;)
Haha I loved seeing more and more of Richard's abs, myself. But Kahlan is badass and cast perfectly! And I like Kara

If you have Hulu you can get it.
Netflix does not have it, and Amazon instant video is 2.99 an episode.....
Unless you actually get the whole season on DVD.
RachelvlehcaR wrote: "I love the show because as it goes you see Kahlan's outfit show more cleavage as the show goes on. Also the slit on her shirt gets higher and higher. As for the Mord-Siths their cleavage also get..."Can you imagine if HBO had picked it up!
I am sure we would of seen more then a "little" cleavage, and a lot more then just Richards Abs!
Although Darken Rahl is my guy! And I didn't get to see his bum until Spartacus.....
I just got to where Richard mets Shota. She has always been one of my favorite characters in the books...the show did not give her too much screen time.

Oh, so you are towards the end. Did Scarlet enter the scene yet?

I was disappointed with the Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood. I love their True Detectives and GoT. I heard they are going to do Oryx and Crake. There is going to be a lot of stuff going in that one. I wonder if they will change the storeline.
I just passed the Shota part, and the Rachel/doll part.I'm glad I chose to reread with you guys because I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed this book. I didn't continue at the time because I joined tower teams and book lengths didn't count extra for longer books in earlier rounds. Looking forward to reading more of the books. And we are rewatching the show for sure now. Hehe
I've always felt that the section of the book with Richard and the (view spoiler) felt a little disjointed from the rest of the book. Oh, well, I'll push on through it and finish up!
Steven wrote: "I've always felt that the section of the book with Richard and the [spoilers removed] felt a little disjointed from the rest of the book. Oh, well, I'll push on through it and finish up!"I agree, Steven. (view spoiler)

Could have done a shorter story like Debt of Bones was (the prequel to the series) about it instead. I dunno. Just feels out of place with the rest of the book -- probably because of what you said -- the rest of the characters fall by the wayside for a while.

I know, I felt so sorry fir Rachel, I can't imagine how that poor girl lives.
At least she is better when she can go outside, I think I would try to get put out more often.
