Goodkind, Terry- Wizard's First Rule (Sword of Truth #1); Informal Buddy Read: Starts December 15 2014
I just have to finish it before Jan. 6, which is our Book club date, so you guys let me know when you want to read it. BTW, I got it on audio, so it's like 34 hrs and 10 mins and book 2 is 38 hrs and 32 mins
But I LOVED the show Legends of the Seeker, and my first two avatar were Cara & Darken Rahl
and
I've heard that the books are nothing like the show. I actually own most of the series but haven't actually read it yet. I will try to join in for this.

The actors: I was so happy that many of them ended up on Spartacus. Mira, Darken Rahl, Oenomeous, Bartiatus, a few others I can't remember right now.
@Jex: i loved the confessor's dress as well and her personality on the show
Dec. 10 is the 20th anniversary of my 18th birthday, so I am taking that week to chill so can we bump it a few days to the Dec 15th-ish? I should be recovered by then (hopefully).

I can join you 15th, but I'll have to take a break few days later to celebrate my anniversary of 18th birthday *snikers*

Girl, It's great to still be 18! I hope when I get older than 18, I am still as fly as Betty White!

I know. I didn't realise at first how long this book is.

I'm in!This is my favorite series, so it will be a reread for me!
But I need to refresh for Jan 6th! It's been a good four, five years.
I read book 1 and 2 of this series this past summer. If you decide to continue with reading the series, I'll join in on book 3! It is a great read!
I read Wizard's First Rule in January/February of 2013. I was planning on rereading it soon and moving on to the rest of the series after, so this is the perfect reason to do so! I also loved the show for two main reasons:
1- Kahlan Amnell is badass and one of my favorite TV characters of all time.
2- Richard Cypher's sexy body. RAWR.

LOL, we are a great group:D
I read the whole series a few years ago and loved it. Don't think I have time to join this time, but have fun!The series had a little story that wrapped up at the end of each episode and the stories weren't in the same order as the book. And of course, the book is better....so if you loved the series I think you'll love the books.

My favorite episode was when they had to work together against the Sisters of the Light. Richard tied him up but Master Rahl was still cracking me up.

Book Synopsis:
The masterpiece that started The New York Times bestselling epic Sword of Truth
In the aftermath of the brutal murder of his father, a mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, appears in Richard Cypher's forest sanctuary seeking help . . . and more. His world, his very beliefs, are shattered when ancient debts come due with thundering violence.
In a dark age it takes courage to live, and more than mere courage to challenge those who hold dominion, Richard and Kahlan must take up that challenge or become the next victims. Beyond awaits a bewitching land where even the best of their hearts could betray them. Yet, Richard fears nothing so much as what secrets his sword might reveal about his own soul. Falling in love would destroy them--for reasons Richard can't imagine and Kahlan dare not say.
In their darkest hour, hunted relentlessly, tormented by treachery and loss, Kahlan calls upon Richard to reach beyond his sword--to invoke within himself something more noble. Neither knows that the rules of battle have just changed . . . or that their time has run out.
This is the beginning. One book. One Rule. Witness the birth of a legend.
