I was wondering if someone was going to mention this! I only have a couple books with birds on the cover in my TBR, but if I count the Penguin image, I have two more!

MaryAnn (EmilyD1037) One of many bird covered books on my TBR.

Death at Bishop's Keep, A Victorian Mystery by Robin Page (black swan on the cover)

Death and the Penguin by Andrey Kurkov Penguin Lost by Andrey Kurkov

Good to know--if I get stuck I'll read a Penguin, but first want to find one that actually had a bird as part of the cover art, etc.

Brandon Harbeke | 698 comments Penguin's young reader line, Puffin, could also work here.

If you want to keep it really simple, you could read a book about a type of bird, and the cover would probably correspond to the subject.

Rachel | 109 comments I'm surprised how many books have birds on the cover! I'm trying to do the challenge as much as possible using books I already own, and discovered Island by Aldous Huxley which I'd forgotten I had!

message 70: by Lilith (new)

Lilith (lilithp) | 1082 comments Grief is the Thing with Feathers was fantastic. The Crow does make appearances.
It is sad and funny at the same time. If you are now or have ever gone through a loss, it will likely ring so true. It's a short read, and beautifully written. Highly recommended!
....Now I am tempted to reread it...

Huset og fuglen by Alice Hoffman this edition does! It's in German, but it's the same novel, so you're all set :)

Lark of The Bookwyrm's Hoard (lark_bookwyrmshoard) | 25 comments Here are a few of my options, from my actual shelves or my want-to-read list:

H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald Spin the Dawn (The Blood of Stars, #1) by Elizabeth Lim Harry Potter A History of Magic by British Library Year One (Chronicles of The One, #1) by Nora Roberts The Case of the Spellbound Child (Elemental Masters, #14) by Mercedes Lackey

And probably more, but I don't have time to look through my whole TBR list, and any of these will do nicely.
