Synopsis:

A young girl with ambition.
A desperate man on a mission.
An ancient enemy set to wipe out their entire race.

They are dark and surreal tales, set around the world, at different time periods. They show a world in which anything can happen. It is hard to determine reality and what is going on a disturbed mind. People's conceptions about morality are turned upside down. A good person can be transformed by an unexpected event into a bad person and then back again to their former state. The high and mighty often deliver flawed arguments, those considered wicked make good representations of themselves. Revenge is often a subject explored.
One reviewer wrote They're a little Ray Bradbury, a little Stephen King, but with Powell's own unique twists. Very interesting read.

Summary:
Seth, powerfully built with intense blue eyes and close-cropped hair, was a marine veteran torn open by the pain of PTSD. He wanted to escape and recapture his life before the demons consumed him. Working as a police officer, they called him into a new battle to regain control of the city from a drug cartel. He said no. First, he had to save himself.
When his father was threatened, Seth joined the fight. Still, his demons would not leave him. The only chance he had was to hit the open road and find peace.
Angel, beautiful with cascading black hair signaling her Hispanic heritage, was once an unloved orphan. She finally found love only to have it brutally taken away from her. Revenge consumed her. Her exploits tracking down her sister’s killer became legendary and soon she became the best of the best—a cartel assassin.
She never tasted defeat. Angel once traveled halfway around the world to honor her pledge to find the monster enslaving young girls. Now she gave her most important pledge—kill Seth and save the city for the cartel.
Becoming an assassin came at a cost for Angel. Love became a foreign equation for her. She used men but never loved them. Then she met Seth.

Interested in beta reading a fantasy fiction novel before it heads to the publishing editors?

I have a 33 Chapter plus Epilogue novel that has had a lot of editing already and feedback from two beta readers. I have edited and revised every chapter at least twice. The first chapter has had literally dozens of editing passes!
